JOB REQUIREMENTS: About the Job: The Communications Strategist managesand develops communication programs, initiatives, and campaigns thatalign with Northwestern Mutual's strategic corporate communicationpriorities. This role will support the Insurance Product, Sales, andService (PSS) area of the business to bring communications expertisewhile working with SMEs in these areas. The person in this role willcollaborate across business partners and stakeholders within InsuranceSolutions, Sales Enablement, and Strategic Communications to helpstrengthen field awareness, understanding, conviction, and action forour industry-leading risk product suite (life insurance, disabilityinsurance, annuities, and long-term care). These activities mainly aimto inform, educate, and influence our financial advisors, and alsoincludes the company's clients, prospects, key influencers, employees,and other stakeholders. This is a dynamic role where you can directlysupport top business priorities of the company through thoughtpartnership, strategic counsel, impactful storytelling, and meaningfulcommunications content. What You'll Do: Manage and implementcommunication tactics, programs, projects, and initiatives that alignwith strategic direction and priorities through a variety of channels.Desire to learn about the complexities of the insurance and financialservices industry, and the unique relationship the Home Office maintainswith our exclusive field force. Ability to take communications plans andbusiness partner input to develop a variety of compelling contenttailored for specific audience segments. Consult with PSS initiativeleaders on communication strategy to design and execute communicationsplans that support business objectives to achieve documented outcomes.Work across Strategic Comms department to ensure corporate channels areutilized appropriately and cross-functional team members are consultedwhen necessary. Administer and analyze metrics to evaluate theeffectiveness of communication and assess the return on communicationinvestment. Act as a resource and may mentor/train communicationspecialists. Work independently and receives minimal guidance. WhatYou'll Bring to the Role: Bachelor's degree required. 6 or more yearsof experience in professional communication, public relations,organizational communication, marketing, or related communication field.Demonstrated skill in project management, prioritization, adherence todeadlines, and attention to detail. Ability to develop cross-functionalrelationships and build trust. Ability to navigate ambiguity with asolution-oriented mindset. Superior verbal and written communicationskills. Ability to absorb complex information and convert it to anunderstandable format. Willingness to lead with a creative mindset andproblem-solve within given guardrails.
