FTE: 0.900000 Standard Hours: 36.00Shift: Shift 1 Shift Details: 0600-1830 x 3 days per week. EverySaturday and Sunday plus one floating weekday (self-scheduled) Holidays:Holiday rotation required. Weekends: Every Saturday and Sunday. Weekendprogram with an extra 15% differential on Saturday and Sunday. Oneweekend off per quarter. Job Summary: New grads and level 1practitioners welcome to apply The Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP)2 is highly proficient in the management and delivery of respiratorycare. Demonstrates competencies in respiratory assessments andprocedures for all patient populations and age groups. Performs andinteracts as a healthcare professional administering respiratory careprocedures acute care areas and critical care areas. Demonstratescritical thinking skills and the mastery of clinical skills outlined inthe RCP 2 COT. Precepts students on rotation. Exhibits leadership skillsand is able to act as lead therapist as needed. Under the direction ofthe Pulmonary Services Leadership team, provides professionalrespiratory care to patients in accordance with the hospital's policiesand procedures. Other information: EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION: Minimum of 1year of experience plus the ability to show RCP II competency within 6months of hire/transfer into role is required. A minimum of 2 years ofexperience in a hospital setting providing respiratory care ispreferred. EDUCATION DESCRIPTION: Associate degree from a CoARCaccredited Respiratory Care program is required. Bachelor's degree ispreferred. SPECIAL SKILLS DESCRIPTION: Critical thinking skills arerequired. LICENSURE DESCRIPTION: State of Wisconsin license as aRespiratory Care Practitioner is required; Registered RespiratoryTherapist (RRT) for the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) isrequired. For incumbents in this role prior to 7/1/21, the CertifiedRespiratory Therapist (CRT) will be accepted in lieu of the RRT.American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for HealthcareProvider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required. American HeartAssociation (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is required.Advanced specialty credential from the NBRC or Asthma EducatorCertification(AE-C) from the National Asthma Educator CertificationBoard (NAECB) is preferred.
