Job Description The Security Specialist is responsible for consistently monitoring the security, safety, and integrity of Northwest by learning the surveillance, access control, and, alarm systems to provide assistance to the Security Technicians. This position monitors all building activity for potential safety and security risks while coordinating activities at the security front desk. This position coordinates work orders, troubleshooting, repair, and replacement of equipment and coordinates appointments and deliveries. The Security Specialist administers campus and remote visitor and vendor management system and answers the telephone and direct calls appropriately. Tentative Hours: Monday & Tuesday 8-3:30, Wednesday-Friday mid-morning to afternoon. Hours are subject to change. Essential Functionsu2022 Ensure compliance with disaster recovery plansu2022 Ensure compliance with physical security regulationsu2022 Ensure knowledge of regular personnel whereaboutsu2022 Organize and clean Front Desk area/facilitiesu2022 Prepare, maintain, and distribute completed logs and reportsu2022 After-hours alarm activity response and troubleshootingu2022 Monitor security system activity and notificationsu2022 Administer daily equipment audits, testing, and reportingu2022 Manage semi-annual, quarterly, and monthly security system and user reportsu2022 Administer access control credentialsu2022 Use surveillance to investigate alarm incidentsu2022 Administer user PINs and change employee authorization levelsu2022 Manage campus visitor notifications and provide visitor supportu2022 Manage remote receptionist system to maintain security for other corporate officesu2022 Creating and maintaining employee ID badges and vendor badgesu2022 Process security user access requests and assist with device distributionu2022 Maintain sufficient coverage of phone calls to the Security Helplineu2022 Alert appropriate authorities to suspicious activity and/or potential risksu2022 Coordinate reservations of the company vehicles and provide monthly reportu2022 Coordinate response activity for emergencies and assist with evacuationsu2022 Manage lost and found inventoryu2022 Provide backup assistance to the Work Order systemu2022 Monitor and finalize completed Security work ordersu2022 Collect and distribute paperwork, mail, and interoffice envelopes as they are receivedu2022 Receive, verify, and track 9-1-1 calls Additional Essential Functions Essential Functionsu2022 Ensure compliance with Northwestu2019s policies and procedures, and Federal/State regulationsu2022 Navigate Microsoft Office Software, computer applications, and software specific to the department in order to maximize technology tools and gain efficiencyu2022 Work as part of a teamu2022 Work with on-site equipment Additional Responsibilitiesu2022 Complete other duties and special projects as requested by management Safety and Health for those without supervisory duties u2022 Abide by the rules of the safety and loss prevention programu2022 Perform work tasks in a safe manneru2022 Report any and all injuries to supervisoru2022 Know what to do in case of an emergency QUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Shift differentials are provided for hours worked outside of standard office operations. Actual pay is based on various factors including but not limited to the successful candidateu2019s experience, skills, and knowledge.
