Description The Desktop Administrator will be responsible for diagnosing and troubleshooting PC systems, software/hardware updates, maintaining backups, diagnostics of failing components, and imaging/deployment of new systems. The desktop administrator supports end users remotely to resolve their PC problems along with arranging for systems to be shipped to the administrator for resolution. This position relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job Functions/Responsibilities: u2022 Provide subject matter expertise in resolving incidents and problems. u2022 Execution of service requests. u2022 Contributes to the planning and organization of the deployment of new systems. u2022 Participates in departmental and cross-departmental IT projects. u2022 Lead and train fellow desktop administrators in organizational procedures. u2022 Assists in organizational training u2022 Contributor of the knowledge store used by the desktop support team. u2022 Monitor activities performed by the desktop support team and ensure that execution is compliant with procedures. u2022 Ensure that asset management library is accurate. u2022 Follows best practices and standards for the desktop support team. u2022 Execute the asset management procedure. u2022 Contributes to the project planning of hardware and software procurement process. Required Experience: What you bring to the team: Competencies: u2022 2+ yearsu2019 experience in desktop support u00b7 Microsoft certifications relating to desktop support preferred u2022 CompTIA A+ Certification is preferred u2022 Excellent customer service skills u2022 Strong inter-personal and communication skills u2022 Strong troubleshooting skills u2022 Ability to explain and document procedures verbally and in writing u2022 Demonstrated ability to act proactively u2022 Demonstrated ability to prioritize and document tasks / activity u2022 Demonstrated ability to enact improvements within IT environment / end-user experience u2022 Experience working in a fast-paced support environment u2022 Experience using ticketing tool to react to failures, requests and escalations u2022 Experience with desktop imaging, inventory, and reporting tools u2022 Strong familiarity and support experience with thin-clients technology u2022 Strong understanding of support requirements related to Windows Desktop OS u2022 OS security (rights, privileges, account) and hardening (upgrades, patches, registry) techniques u2022 Experience in Active Directory management u2022 Experience in PowerShell Scripting preferred u2022 Experience in SalesForce strongly preferred u2022 Basic understanding of phone support (basic troubleshooting, setup) u2022 Basic understanding of support requirements related to Windows Server OS u2022 Basic understanding of Networking/Security technologies (Ethernet, routers, switches, firewalls, VPN, etc.) Education: Associateu2019s degree (or higher) or 2+ years detail oriented work experience Required License(s)/Certification(s): Valid, active driveru2019s license with a good driving record as defined by the Companyu2019s current insurance provider.
