AR & Collections Specialist

The AR & Collections Specialist is responsible for initiating contact with customers regarding their past due balances to secure payment of open account purchases by performing the following duties.Conduct complex research of system variances and accounts for discrepanciesand investigate accounts receivable discrepanciesAccept customer payments and maintain cash receipts recordsCode payment for applying payments to customers’ accountsDevelop a clear and thorough understanding of managed account customers, as well as company processes, capabilities, and constraintsHandle collection calls and/or correspondence in a fast paced goal- oriented collections departmentProviding customer service regarding collection issues, process customer refunds, review account adjustments and resolve client discrepancies and short paymentsResponsible for monitoring and maintaining assigned market segment accountsInitiate small balance write offs, customer reconciliations and processing credit memos and/or debit memosAccountable for reducing delinquency for assigned accountsMust communicate effectively with sales department regarding customer accounts on a timely basisEnlist the efforts of sales and senior management when necessary to accelerate the collection processHigh School Diploma or equivalentTechnical skills in account reconciliation, credit extensions, payment plans, etc.Attention to detailProblem analysis and problem resolutionMust have excellent oral and written communication skillsProficiency in MS Word, Excel, and OutlookSAP experience4 year degree or 4 years related experience and/or training.Joerns Healthcare is an EqualOpportunity Employer,including Disability/VeteransJoerns Healthcare is a leading national distributor of therapeutic support surfaces, bariatric care equipment; negative pressure wound therapy systems, and safe patient handling solutions, products and services.
