Ata GlanceLegrandhas an exciting opportunity for a Service TechnicianII to join the Starline Team. This is a remote position. The Service TechnicianIIrole will require a highly self-motivated individual to perform service work on Starline’s full complement of products at customer sites.Technicianwill work directly with end users and contractors to ensure that all on-site products are functioning properly and tested prior to system energization.Service Technician must be willing and able to travel domestically often and internationally occasionally.What Will You Do?Execute a System Startup checklist while at a customer’s site.Program Starline CPM and 3rdparty meters at the customer site.Demonstrate the ability toidentifyand resolve complex network issues.Knowledge of terminal emulator programs like PuTTY and Telnet.Meter programming and networking support via phone with customers.Complete a startup certification report and a meter commissioning report.In each case,technicianwill be given a template to work from andrequiredto enter data intoappropriate fields.Interact well with customers being professional and respectful while on the job site.Obtain a Level 1 Thermography Certification to IR scan energized Busway components as part of routine service visits. Complete associated thermography reports.Diagnose and repair on-site issues as required by end-users and contractors.Train and mentor internal and 3rdparty technicians related to on-site services.Suggest new servicesidentifiedin the marketplace through customer and contractor interaction and present ideas to management.Identifyand specify required testing equipment for new or existing on-site services to create efficiency gains or to increase depth of testing.Education: High School Diploma or equivalent work experience.Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:Superior attention to detailMust be able to effectively communicate with customers verbally and in writingService Oriented, actively looking for ways to help othersExcellent critical thinking skills where you can use logic and reasoning toidentifyonsite product issuesBasic knowledge of network communication protocols (Telnet, SNMP, BACnet,etc..)Product knowledge and familiarity with Starline Busway Ability to present yourself professionally asanStarline representative, must act and dress the part.Tardiness to job sites, inappropriate or improper dress or any form of disrespect while on the job site will not be tolerated.Must be willing to make overnight trips, staying in one location for up to four consecutive nights, or longer on a rare occasion.Willingness and desire to train and support both internal technicians as well as on-site customers, electricians, contractors and end users.Proficient experience with Microsoft Office and WindowsValid Driver’s LicenseAbility to rent a vehicleAbility to obtain government mandated security clearancesValid PassportAbility to obtain a company credit cardExperience using power and electrical testing tools and equipmentAdvanced knowledge and experience working on electrical components and metersWillingness to complete mandated training and certification programsWorking Conditions / Physical Requirements:Work performed at customer sites may be on active constructions sites, which will require, under certain areas; the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, specific footwear, mandatory hearingprotectionand electrical safety clothing asrequiredon a site-by-site basisAbility to stand for prolonged periods of timeAbility to climb ladders and perform work while standing on a ladderAbility to lift and carry up to 75 lbs. occasionally; ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs. daily.Ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemblevery smallobjectsThe ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer)Travel up to 90% of the time, when acting as a Service Technician, via car or airplaneAbility to work long hours as needed at customer sitesAbout LegrandLegrand is the global specialist in electrical and digital building infrastructures.
