The Senior Technical Modeler is a top-level senior drafter/technician (non-supervisory level), and is responsible for preparation of construction documents for BIM drawings and details on a variety of projects that range vastly in scale, detail, and complexity. A Senior Technical Modeler should be able to rapidly develop structural building information models (BIMs), annotate plans and details, create three- dimensional renderings, rationalize geometry for appropriate structural schemes, and assist with creating structural narratives. Works closely with design originator, project managers and team of engineers and modelers; may recommend minor design changes requiring sound judgment and discretion. May guide or be assisted by lower-level technicians Performs non-routine and complex assignments from verbal instructions and under minimal supervision.Coordinates all BIM activities with project manager, designers, and engineersInteracts with clients and team members regarding project modelsUses latest tools/digital workflows to efficiently create and maintain BIM information and to interoperate with analysis, documentation, fabrication, and construction modelsAssists in the development of structural detailing in documentation modelsWorks with Project Manager to establish deadlines to stop internal work prior to plotting deadline to ensure time is left to check quality and accuracy of deliverablesAssists in preparing and annotating structural detailsUses tools in support of project-specific digital implementationPeriodically checks model content for accuracy, consistency, and adherence to graphic and modeling standardsProperly organizes structural and reference modelsArchives various deliverables, models, and databases at key milestonesUpdates and maintains related project documentation (OneNote, BIM execution plans, sheet lists, etc.)Knows the various types of structural elements and materials used in the BIMs and deliverablesWorks towards understanding key structural systems, their components, and typical layout/geometry/dimensions associated with themWorks with senior engineers to learn detailing conventions for commonly encountered conditions (cladding support, etc.) and project-specific details (parking ramps, arena vomitories/seating units, medical equipment support)Supports company-wide efforts to build effective relationships with employees, clients, industry partners, community stakeholders, and vendors in a way that reflects and supports company core values and meets or exceeds expectationsActs as a culture ambassador, modeling professional behavior and supporting employee development and training initiativesConsistently strives to achieve positive results, in a timely and efficient mannerAssociate’s degree or certificate in Drafting Design preferred7 minimum years of progressive drafting experience Excellent written and verbal communicationAdvanced knowledge and experience in Revit, Tekla, and AutoCAD, with Rhino preferredStrong organizational skillsAbility to mentor others, build partnerships, and work collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives.Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced environmentStrong client-service attitude with ability to multi-taskHybrid Firm Position:As a Hybrid Firm, Walter P Moore combines the best of both worlds - blending work options to include in-office and home office environments.
