About the PositionThe Warehouse Tech provides support in the areas of storage, retrieval and shipping of pulp and rejects samples, oversees discard activities, provides strict control of sample movements, cleaning, and safety and ensures standard operating procedures are strictly followed in theperformance of all the activities in the warehouse.Prepare packaging for outgoing shipments of pulp samples and rejects while ensuring proper protection of sameSorting, locating and retrieving sample pulp and rejects from the warehouse facility using forkliftAccurate data entry and inventory control of sample rejects, pulps, scan pallets and binsCoordinate the pulp and reject storage, disposal and return to clients in a timely mannerEnsure sample records and supplies are complete and accurateConduct local deliveries and pick-ups as neededOversees maintenance of vehicle inspection logsConduct inventory counts as requestedOversees the storage of supplies in the warehouse areaProvide inventory count to invoice clients for their pulp and reject storageProvide daily productivity information as requested by managerCreates written reportsConducts crew talks and ensures all isles and safety zones are free of obstructionConducts daily racking and equipment pre-operation inspectionLiaise with clients and respond to client inquiriesResponsible for providing training to new staffOther general shipping, receiving and supplies warehousing functions as neededUse correct methods in accordance with the established procedures and schedules while ensuring analytical qualityObserve established safety regulations and comply with all ALS health and safety policies and proceduresOther duties as assigned.Required Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesAbility to perform repetitive tasks accurately and thoroughAbility to work within a fast-paced, high volume environmentIntermediate understanding of computer applications (Microsoft Office Suite);Excellent English communication skills both written and verbal and ability to read EnglishAbility to work within a team environmentComfortable with writing reportStrong organizational skills and attention to detailGood hand eye coordination.Required QualificationsGrade 12 diploma preferredCurrent driver’s license with clean driving history requiredForklift license and experience operating a forklift requiredMinimum two years previous warehouse and shipping & receiving experience required.Physical DemandsAbility to lift up to 50 pounds; (occasionally lifting may exceed 50lbs and assistance is mandatory from either another employee or the lift assist equipment);Extensive walking or movement, bending, kneeling, and working with machinesFrequently wearing a dust maskComfortable in environments with high noise levelsAbility to sit and/or stand for a full shiftManual dexterity to perform repetitive tasksALS offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes:Health Coverage: Medical, Dental, and VisionRetirement Plan: 401(k) and Roth contributions with a company match after 6 months of employmentPaid Time Off, Vacation Company paid Life InsuranceCompany paid Short Term and Long Term DisabilityOther: Ancillary benefitsWe would like to thank everyone for their interest in ALS but only candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.'ALS is proud to be an equal opportunity employer committed to achieving and maintaining a workforce which reflects and affirms the diversity of our society'ALS is a VEVRAA Federal Contractor.EOE AA Minority, Female, Veteran, Individuals with DisabilitiesClickHereto view the EEO is the Law posterClickHereto view the FMLA Law posterClickHereto view the EPPA Law PosterClickHereto view the Pay Transparency ProvisionClickHereto view company E-Verify Participation Poster
