Job Description

Lead Controls Systems Engineers are responsible for designing and leading building automation projects. Day to day tasks will be determined by the specific requirements of each projectTeam Leadership & Sales SupportProvide technical guidance for a project team of 2-5 engineerIdentify and assign tasks within the project teamLead customer meetingsAssist with proposal generation by estimating hardware costs and the engineering effort required for a projectMaintain relationships with existing customersInstrumentation & Electrical DesignCreate instrument lists by examining P&ID drawingsResearch instrumentation (temperature transmitters, pressure transmitters, flow meter, valve actuators, etc…) and select devices appropriate for the projectResearch and select controls hardware appropriate for the projectCompile submittal documentation for controls and instrument hardwareCreate panel layouts and electrical schematics for controls enclosuresProcure project hardwareProvide technical support for panel fabrication techniciansInspect completed control enclosuresSystem Design and ConfigurationLead customer design review meetingsConfigure user interface and HMI screensConfigure DDC, PLC and/or DCS control algorithmsExecute internal functional and quality control testingDraft system documentationAssist is customer demonstrations and acceptance testingOnsite System StartupInstall project software and configuration onto site systemsParticipate in point to point loop checks for all instrumentationPerform software calibration and tuningConduct functional tests of all systemsTroubleshoot installation discrepanciesSupport additional customer testingProgram field modifications as requiredTrain customer representatives on operations and maintenance of systemTechnical ExperienceBachelors Degree in a technical field or related Technical Degree3+ years of experience in related field/industryControls Experience in at least one of the following:Rockwell: FactoryTalk Suite, RS Logix/Studio 5000, familiarity with PlantPAx DCSAveva System PlatformInductive Ignition PerspectiveDistech: Experience with BACnet and LON Distech controllers, Eclypse ControllersOther useful technologies include:Johnson Controls: Facility Explorer or Metasys controllersTridium: Niagara N4SQLScripting languages (VBA, Python, etc.)Knowledge of Kepware OPC server, ThinManager, VMware is preferred.HVAC Experience/Knowledge:Basic understanding of HVAC systems in large building automation systems.Understanding of sequence of operations and P&IDs for HVAC and plant utilities.Experience with functional testing, including the ability to create, maintain, and execute test plans.Experience with specifying instrumentation and control valves for HVAC systemsCompetitive Base Salary: $80,000-$130,000, depending on experiencePerformance Bonuses:Bonus structure designed to reward resultsTravel Perks:Travel incentives + per-diem packages for field assignmentsFull Benefits Package:Medical, dental, and vision coverageRetirement Ready:401(k) with company matchTime Off:Generous PTO which includes vacation, holidays, andunlimited personal timeGrow With Us:Ongoing training, certifications, and professional development support
