Dewberry's Nashville, TN office is looking for aMechanical or Electrical Engineer-Commissioning Agentto join our commissioning department as aDeputy Department Manager.Over the past three years, our Commissioning Team’sbacklog hasgrown by 10X.This success is accelerating demand for our engineering and commissioningexpertise. Our Commissioning Team specializes in a wide variety of markets and geographies such as Education, Healthcare, Industrial,and Federal projects in geographies across the Eastern United States,such as Louisiana, Oklahoma, Illinois, New York City, Virginia,Florida,and Alabama, to name just a few. Ourcommitment to excellenceand collaboration sets us apart, making us trusted partners in transforming the built environment across the region.In this pivotaldoer-seller,entrepreneurialrole, you will develop,lead , and manage a Commissioning team of professionals and execute Commissioning services projects.You will provide technical and process management support for commissioning projects as well as business development to expand our client base.This role comes withautonomybacked by substantialhorsepower.Thevarietyof daily tasks will keep you inspired and engaged.Your skills will be instrumental in inspecting building systems and creating comprehensive testing and closeout documents, all whileutilizingcutting-edgesoftware to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.In this role, you will report directly to the Commissioning Department Manager and be engaged in strategic decisions tocontinue the growthof Dewberry’s Commissioning Team.***Hybrid work available for this position based on experience***Dewberry is a leading, market-facing professional services firm with more than 60 locations and 2,500 professionals nationwide. Our commitment to excellence stems from our personal integrity and from other defining attributes, which we call “Dewberry at Work,” that have inspired our employees to be successful for more than a half-century.Doer-Seller: Find the work and execute it.Actively support and coordinate with the entire commissioning team to execute projects and uphold our commitments.HVAC sequence of operation knowledge and capable of performing design review of Sequence of operation and creating mechanical system testing procedures and testing same in the fieldMust have knowledge of manipulating, adjusting,setupand testing HVAC controls systems such as JCI, Trane, Automated Logic, Siemens, etc. Knowledge in multiple control systems a plusMust have complete working knowledge of HVAC chilled water and DX systems including design,operationand testing of: Chillers, Boilers, Cooling towers, pumps, heat exchangers, AHU, RTU, ERU, VAVs, exhaust, FCU, etc.Review air and water test and balance process, review aTABreportandidentifyissues.Visit client facilities and gather necessary data to test systemsCreate system installation and testing documentsBe familiar with OSHA safety requirements and ability toidentifydeficienciesBe familiar with building codes and ability to make intuitive decisions related to suchRead and understand building plans and specificationsWork safely around electrical systems up to 600 voltsEffectively communicate with all clients, construction trades, and design professionalsHave a high aptitude for abstract reasoning, assertiveness, thoroughness and be very detail orientedWork flexible hours and work in hot or cold environmentsClimb stairs, ladders, and lift trucks. Do moderate lifting. Proficient use of Microsoft Word, Excel,Outlook,etc.Travel approximately 50% of the time.Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineeringAccomplished engineer with 10+ years of experienceCommissioning experienceCommissioning process certification preferred or ability toacquirewithin first 6 monthsBusiness development experience a plusProfessional Engineering License a plus or ability toacquireSelf-motivated with highly developed verbal, written and interpersonal skillsDon’t meet every single requirement?
