Construction Materials Technician

Job Title: Construction Materials Technician Job Description We are seeking a Construction Materials Testing Technician to support materials testing and inspection on various construction projects. The Technician will perform tests and inspections on building materials such as concrete, soil, and aggregates to ensure they meet project specifications and building codes. While prior materials testing experience is not required, candidates with experience or certifications will be considered. This is an excellent opportunity to learn new skills with a reputable engineering firm. Responsibilities + Perform testing and inspection of construction activities, including concrete, soils, masonry, asphalt, aggregate, and reinforcing steel. + Review project drawings and specifications. + Report test results and timesheets to the Project Manager promptly. + Travel to job sites to perform testing and collect samples. + Maintain good written and verbal communication skills. + Utilize basic computer software such as Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word. + Gain experience and certifications, such as NICET, ACI Field, ODOT, NETTCP, and/or ICC, which are preferred but not required. + Complete training as provided. Essential Skills + Construction materials testing + Concrete testing + Basic computer skills (Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word) + Good written and verbal communication skills + Valid driver's license Additional Skills & Qualifications + High school diploma + Prior construction or manual labor experience (e.g., concrete, construction labor, landscaping) + Willingness to work overtime and weekends + Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions + Experience with ACI and nuclear density gauge is advantageous + Drug, bg, and MVR driving record checks required Work Environment Work 100% in the field on various construction sites, mostly local to the Wapakoneta area. Employees are provided with a company vehicle, driving to the office each morning to pick up a truck and equipment, then returning to the office at the end of the day. The position involves working outdoors in various weather conditions.
