Description We are looking for an experienced Controller to join our team on a contract basis in Rockville, Maryland. In this role, you will lead accounting operations and oversee financial activities within the construction industry. This position offers an opportunity to manage critical financial processes and contribute to the success of our organization. Responsibilities: u2022 Supervise all accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger operations. u2022 Manage financial aspects of construction projects, including job costing, subcontractor compliance, change orders, and accruals. u2022 Prepare and deliver accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. u2022 Ensure compliance with US GAAP standards and oversee the integrity of financial reporting. u2022 Review and approve journal entries while maintaining organized and detailed financial records. u2022 Lead month-end close processes and ensure timely reconciliations. u2022 Develop and implement financial controls to safeguard company assets. u2022 Support audits and ensure proper documentation for regulatory compliance. Requirements u2022 Proven expertise in general ledger management and accounting operations. u2022 Strong background in financial statement preparation and reporting. u2022 Solid understanding of month-end close procedures and reconciliation processes. u2022 Comprehensive knowledge of construction accounting practices. u2022 Familiarity with US GAAP standards and their application in financial reporting. u2022 Ability to analyze financial data and provide strategic insights. u2022 Exceptional organizational skills with a focus on accuracy and detail. u2022 Proficiency in accounting software and tools relevant to the construction industry.
