Ensures that radiographs are takenin accordance withthe State regulations and in conjunction with the ALARA principle. Accountable for adhering to the guidelines,conductingandmaintainingrecords of quality control test required by the ACR for the accreditation for mammography. Responsibilities: + Identifiescare needs of patients/significant others and implements interventions andutilizesequipment necessary to meet the specific needs of the patient population served toinclude:neonates, infants, pediatric, young adults, middleadultsand late adults. + Assistsphysicians with imaging procedures,i.e.needle placements. + Researchesandobtainsprior mammogram films as well as reports to ensure proper patient care as well asmaintainingpatient records. + Assuresall exams are completed and transmitted to theappropriate locations. + Assures proper patient identification,appropriate requisition/examcheck-in documentation and is entered into PACS correctly + Assures all exam date entry is correct and completed + Able tooperateall equipmentto includeDR, CR,fluoro, diagnostic rooms and portable machines. + Able to performthevariety of exams that are performed in diagnostic radiology. + Selects correct technical factors, cones, collimates and shields patients, and ensures that a grid isutilizedwhenappropriate, to ensure an image is of diagnostic quality. + Willparticipatein educating students, willobserveand provide feedback to students completing diagnostic studies in a professional manner. + Will generateappropriate documentationregardingthe maintenance of equipment and supplies. + Reports to andisevaluated by the Diagnostic Supervisor and the Director of Medical Imaging Services. What you will need: + Graduate of a JRC/ERT approved Radiologic Technology Program + Reads, writes,speaksandcomprehendsEnglish language. + Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists ARRT (R) + Licensed by the State of Maryland. + CPR Certified + Certification by the ARRT for mammography About us: Holy Cross Health is a Catholic, not-for-profit health system that serves more than 240,000 individuals each year from Maryland's two largest counties u2014 Montgomery and Prince George's counties.
