Lightsource bp was fully acquired by bp in 2024. This is a hybrid position based at a Lightsource bp office; Denver, Austin, or San Francisco. Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays are in office, Mondays and Fridays remote. What Youu2019ll do Manage merchant revenue streams such as capacity and RECs for operational LSbp US projects and associated risk mitigation market strategies. Negotiate bilateral commodities contracts. Be a subject matter expert on revenue risks and mitigations, as well as RTO markets and policies and regulations impacting solar and storage development. Collaborate with Asset Services and the Investment Management team to optimize the portfolio of operational assets. Duties and Responsibilities u2022 Structure commercial transactions for merchant energy, capacity, RECs and/ or other commodities, across various regions and tenors, with a focus on short term optimization u2022 Work with a wide range of wholesale market counterparts such as utilities and trading firms to negotiate deals u2022 Support the revenue management and optimization of the current portfolio of assets, including management of Day Ahead-Real Time spread, and basis/congestion u2022 Develop, implement and monitor FTR strategy based on fundamentals analysis u2022 Demonstrate effective communication skills, both orally and written, when sharing work product with internal and external stakeholders. u2022 Support ISO/RTO asset registration, credit requirements, participation requirements u2022 Support RFP responses and PPA negotiations in collaboration with origination team Who weu2019re looking for Knowledge u2022 Strong understanding of major power markets and short-term risk optimization with focus on renewable energy. u2022 Understanding of utility-scale solar and storage development processes and financing structures u2022 Effective communication and presentation skills, both oral and written u2022 Experience working across teams and functions to deliver results u2022 Ability to efficiently and effectively articulate complex and ambiguous information in a concise and accurate manner u2022 Strong results and detail orientation u2022 Comfort working in fast-paced environments Qualifications u2022 Bacheloru2019s degree required, Masteru2019s degree is a plus Experience u2022 5-8 yearsu2019 experience in power markets, preferably in the storage, solar or clean energy industry u2022 Strong understanding of energy markets structures and value streams, including energy, Renewable Energy Certificate (RECs), capacity and ancillary services u2022 Experience negotiating transactions with counterparties across the industry u2022 Understanding of renewable project fundamentals including project development, business development, financing u2022 Experience with analytical frameworks, relational databases, and PowerBI visualization is a plus u2022 Board-level communication experience is a plus Why youu2019ll make a great member of the team Personal qualities u2022 Solid understanding of energy markets and commodities products u2022 Strong commercial acumen and business development skills u2022 Strong interest in current and future market trends in energy industry, particularly for utility-scale solar and storage technologies u2022 Self-starter and highly motivated to be a strong team contributor u2022 Ability to handle complex and highly ambiguous scopes of work u2022 Ability to effectively and efficiently prioritize work with minimal supervision u2022 Flexible approach to addressing opportunities and challenges in a fast-paced business environment, while maintaining a professional demeanor We offer u2022 Competitive compensation: $130,000 to $150,000 annually plus a 15% annual bonus. u2022 Health, dental, prescription, and vision care for US team members starts on your first day of employment with zero premiums for employee-only coverage. u2022 Retention bonuses u2022 Four weeks of vacation and three weeks of sick leave annually plus 11 paid holidays u2022 401(k) plan, with a 3% nonelective employer contribution. u2022 Hybrid working environment (Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday in office, Monday and Friday remote) u2022 Monthly personal phone bill reimbursement of up to $100 and a monthly commuter benefit of up to $150. u2022 Lifestyle Savings Account and more Why youu2019ll want to work with us Our company is a place where you can be yourself and grow u2013 a place where your ideas and opinions matter.
