You will find a fulfilling career at MSM Posting Number ACAD519 Job Title Assistant/Associate Professor (Series I/Series II), Graduate Nursing Program Position Title Assistant/Associate Professor (Series I/Series II), Graduate Nursing Program Position Type Faculty Number of vacancies Multiple Salary Commensurate with experience Department Nursing Position Summary The Assistant/Associate Professor (Series I/Series II) in the Graduate Nursing Program at MSM will contribute to teaching, research, clinical practice, and service activities. This full-time, on-site, 12-month position will work closely with the Chair and Program Director to develop and deliver course content across the didactic, clinical, and simulation curricula. Duties include teaching, scholarship, academic advising, clinical practice, service, and professional activities. Faculty also serve on admissions, curriculum, and student progress committees and facilitate student assessment, remediation, and ongoing program evaluation. In all matters, faculty are expected to maintain the highest standards of professional ethics consistent with the MSM Mission. This is a non-tenure track position, eligible for a multi-year appointment. MSM employs a time-and-effort certification to account for the professional effort of all faculty. Faculty are responsible for a 3-3-2 teaching load (3 courses in Fall and Spring; 2 courses in Summer). Faculty operate within the MSM framework of lifelong learning through innovative teaching, learner-centered curricula, collaborative scholarship, and clinical excellence. The faculty member will participate in team-based innovative learning models, curriculum development, student mentorship, and scholarly endeavors that align with MSMu2019s focus on health equity and serving underserved communities. Key Responsibilities: u00b7 Teach graduate-level nursing courses and contribute to curriculum development. u00b7 Engage in research and scholarly activities relevant to nursing and health disparities. u00b7 Mentor and advise graduate nursing students. u00b7 Support other MSM faculty in other responsibilities as assigned by the Program Director and/or Chair. u00b7 Assist in the recruitment, evaluation, and maintenance of quality clinical sites, the faculty development of volunteer clinical preceptors, and the assignment and scheduling of clinical year rotations and electives. u00b7 Participate in an ongoing schedule of periodic site visits to evaluate students on clinical rotation and to evaluate clinical sites and the supervision provided by clinical preceptors. u00b7 Assist Chair/program director and/or his/her designee with curriculum development and ongoing program progress. u00b7 Assist in the admission, remediation, and retention of nursing students during didactic, clinical, and simulation educational training. u00b7 Serve on committees and subcommittees related to education and curriculum, and serve as a resource to other committees as necessary. u00b7 Participate in accreditation self-study application, and site visits activities necessary in acquiring provisional and continuing program accreditation. u00b7 Assist program director and/or his/her designee with accreditation documentation and problem-solving activities related to the didactic and clinical curriculum. u00b7 Participate in educational research and scholarship to foster a learning community of educator-scholars who will ensure educational excellence for all students. u00b7 Performs other duties as assigned by the program director and or his/her u00b7 Participate in national, regional, and state professional organizations. u00b7 Participate in service activities within the institution and the broader community. u00b7 Collaborate with colleagues to advance the mission of the Graduate Nursing Program. Minimum Qualifications u00b7 Doctoral degree in Nursing or a related field from a regionally accredited college or university. u00b7 An active, unencumbered Georgia RN and (midwifery or APRN license) u00b7 Evidence of effective teaching and scholarly activity. u00b7 Must be able to work full-time in person; this is not a hybrid position u00b7 Commitment to advancing health equity through education and research. u00b7 Current APRN / CNM certification and eligible for licensure in Georgia. u00b7 Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively in complex interdisciplinary and interprofessional settings. u00b7 Demonstrated innovation in diverse methods of teaching delivery models u00b7 Minimum 2 years of experience in clinical or classroom experience. u00b7 Expertise in adult learning pedagogy, remediation, learning, and assessment, and demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to current trends in nursing education. Non-RN/NP/ CNM Faculty Candidates: In lieu of teaching experience and the required nursing certification, candidates must demonstrate at least 2 years of clinical or classroom teaching in the specified field of study. Individuals with eligible licensure (e.g., MD, PharmD) must have an unencumbered Georgia license.
