N Position Type Management Pay Range: $85,000-$113,000 Annually Bonus Eligible: Y JOB SUMMARY Assists the Assistant Director of Catering by providing support to the operation of the catering department. Manages and coordinates catering activities and services to ensure the smooth execution of all conventions, functions and events requiring food and beverage services. Handles more complex groups, high touch groups and ongoing projects. CANDIDATE PROFILE Education and Experience u2022 High school diploma or GED; 4 yearsu2019 experience in the event management, food and beverage, or related professional area. OR u2022 Bacheloru2019s degree from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major; 2 yearsu2019 experience in the event management, food and beverage, or related professional area. CORE WORK ACTIVITIES Managing Conference Operations u2022 Projects supply needs for the department, (e.g., china, glass, silver, buffet presentations, props). u2022 Applies knowledge of all laws as they relate to an event. u2022 Understands the impact of banquet operations on the overall success of a conference event and manages activities to maximize customer satisfaction. u2022 Adheres to and reinforces all standards, policies, and procedures. u2022 Maintains established sanitation levels. u2022 Manages departmental inventories and maintains equipment. u2022 Schedules banquet service staff to forecast and service standards, while maximizing profits. u2022 Assists team in developing lasting relationships with groups to retain business and increase growth. u2022 Manages department controllable expenses to achieve or exceed budgeted goals. u2022 Verifies that all banquet event orders (BEOu2019s) are developed and distributed according to established guidelines. Participating in and Leading Conference Teams u2022 Sets goals and delegates tasks to improve staff performance. u2022 Applies knowledge of food and wine pairings and current trends in cuisine. u2022 Acts as a liaison to the kitchen staff. u2022 Leads shifts and actively participates in the servicing of conference events. Promoting and Providing Exceptional Customer Service u2022 Sets a positive example for guest relations. u2022 Interacts with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels. u2022 Responds to and handles guest problems and complaints. u2022 Empowers employees to provide excellent customer service. u2022 Ensures employees understand expectations and parameters. u2022 Strives to improve service performance. u2022 Emphasizes guest satisfaction during all departmental meetings and focuses on continuous improvement. u2022 Reviews comment cards and guest satisfaction results with employees.
