JOB REQUIREMENTS: Group Health Cooperative of South Central Wisconsin.BETTER TOGETHER This is a hybrid position which will have a combinationof remote and onsite work on a weekly basis. Applicants must be aresident of Wisconsin and have the ability to work onsite as scheduled.1.0 FTE / 40 hours per week. The Medical Billing Specialist isresponsible for all Fee-for-Service (FFS) patient accounts. Thisincludes timely billing of non-covered services, services covered byother health insurance, co-payments and deductibles. They are alsoresponsible for the collection and posting of all payments related topatient accounts. Additionally, they provide assistance to members withbilling inquiries, complaints and compliments; and performscredentialing certification for GHC-SCW providers for billing purposes.The Medical Billing Specialist is responsible for enrollment ofuninsured individuals in the Community Care Program and students in theMadison College Student Health Services. The Medical Billing Specialistworks under the general supervision and guidance of the Medical BillingSupervisor. A minimum of one (1) or more years ofaccounting/billing related experience is required. Experience ininsurance or medical billing is preferred but not required. Basicknowledge of or ability to learn reimbursement/insurance practices formedical care is required. Basic knowledge of Coordination of Benefitsrules and regulations pertaining to Medicare, duplicate health coverage,Medicaid and privately sponsored plans is preferred. Knowledge of orability to learn medical, legal and insurance terminology is required.Knowledge of or ability to learn diagnostic and procedure codes, CPT-4,ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding is required. Good written and verbalcommunication skills are required to research issues with members andoutside providers. Excellent customer service skills are required.Ability to be culturally sensitive and to work with diverse populationsis required. Strong listening...
