We're here to better our world withbiology. Join us as our new Operator in Packaging This position worksunder close supervision and is primarily responsible for operating inthe Packaging department. The areas are defined as sanitizing, blending,boxing, warehouse/freezer, and bagging. This position works a 2, 2, 3schedule with hours from 4:30pm-5am. In this role you'll make an impactby: Setting-up (assembles and disassembles), operating, adjusting,cleaning and sanitizing equipment to package products within qualitystandards and according to procedures. Assisting others in the areastrained as required by production demands or by direction of theSupervisor. Preparing bags and labels for product fills according towork instructions. Verifying lots and batch numbers and dumps materialsinto blender/hopper. Stacking bags and boxes onto trolley for storageinto the freezer. Delivering or picking up raw materials or finishedproduct into and out of -55C freezer. Troubleshooting and/or identifiesequipment failures or problems. Completing necessary paperwork and/ordata entry for production and/or inventory records. Participating incontinuous improvement activities using Lean concepts and principles.Taking necessary samples for QC testing as needed. Adhering to all GMP,including sanitary requirements, Safety, ISO and Standardized Workprocedures. Adhering to guidelines as set forth by religious dietary lawcertifications (Kosher and Halal). To succeed you must hold: Ability toread, write and speak English. Ability to apply basic mathematicalconcepts to the production process including conversion of weight andvolume in the metric system. Ability to read and follow a productionjournal to packaging finished goods. Ability to operate a pallet walkerand/or forklift, preferred. Ability to use basic hand tools (hammer,screwdriver, wrench) for assembly and disassembly of equipment. Abilityto communicate effectively with co-workers regarding the status of theproduction process. Basic computer skills. ERP system knowledge (SAP),preferred. These characteristics are normally acquired through a HighSchool Diploma or GED with experience in a production environmentpreferred.
