The Chiller Technician role is the primary service and maintenance contact for Trane Technologies customers in a defined market with a diverse commercial base including Healthcare, Process Manufacturing Facilities, Education Institutions, and Office Complexes. As a Chiller Technician, you will be primarily responsible for repairing Chillers ranging from 50 Tons and up. Additionally, you will be responsible for scheduled and unscheduled Chiller preventative maintenance, inspections, and service requests including replacement, and modifications of Chiller equipment or systems as needed or requested by customers. You will be responsible for testing Chillers on our onsite test stand, point to point testing, starting up, commissioning, and servicing on assigned Chillers or HVAC equipment. When not directly interacting with customers; collaborate with colleagues in your office What you will do: u00b7 Responsible for servicing and assembling Chiller equipment, ranging from 50 Tons and up u00b7 Work is mostly performed onsite at hospitals, arenas, casinos, shopping malls as well as occasional assigned projects, and jobsites. Represents the company by serving as the direct customer contact and is responsible for servicing chiller products and chiller equipment on assigned projects, ensuring customer satisfaction by identifying, examining, diagnosing and repairing chiller equipment and systems at customeru2019s location. u00b7 Daily communication with team leader/project manager and customer to precisely understand requirements for all on-site Chiller startups, installation and repairs by forecasting issues, gathering materials and synchronizing on-site work to precisely understand requirements. u00b7 Uses cutting edge software and technology, along with a variety of hand-tools, following blueprints or engineering specifications, to diagnose and repair units. u00b7 Access to Remote Support Specialist Team to support our Chiller Technicians while in the field u00b7 Continually enforces safety to the highest standards and maintains security and accountability of company issued and procured assets by recording use, wear and conditions. u00b7 Mentor team members. Display team effort and dedication to customer by maintaining flexibility to work overtime and weeks as the business requires, including occasional overnight stays. What you will bring: u00b7 A High School Diploma or equivalent, required. u00b7 EPA Universal, required. u00b7 Typically requires at least 5 plus years of experience with Chiller repairs, including Chiller tear downs, motor replacements and rigging heavy equipment. u00b7 Operating knowledge of Microsoft office software and working proficiency with handheld computer (i.e. Smartphone, iPad). u00b7 Must possess a valid driveru2019s license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations including, but not limited to: o DUI, Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless / Careless Driving or multiple smaller infractions or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years. Additional Requirements and Environmental Exposure: u00b7 Must be able to safely and legally operate a vehicle using a seat belt u00b7 Must be able to wear helmets, safety goggles, fall protection harness and safety boots to safely perform job duties u00b7 Must be able to twist the trunk of your body 90 degrees in each direction u00b7 Must be able to squat and touch the floor with both hands u00b7 Must be able to reach your hands over your head u00b7 Must be able to stand on concrete surfaces for extended periods, routinely up to 4 hours u00b7 This position is highly physical and requires regular use of hands, fingers, walking, stooping, kneeling and climbing ladders. It requires employees to regularly lift and or move up to 10 lbs., frequently lift and/or move up to 40 lbs. and occasionally lift and/or move more than 40 lbs. u00b7 Must be able to safely use a ladder with a 375 lb. total weight limit, while carrying equipment of 50 lbs. or less u00b7 Must be able to maneuver confined access areas, as small as 30u201d vertical x 45u201d horizontal u00b7 Must be able to comfortably and routinely access rooftops with extension and/or fixed ladders at heights of 15u2019 to 20u2019, and occasionally, up to 50 feet u00b7 This role may be exposed to variable weather conditions, moving mechanical parts, heights, risk of electrical shock, noisy operating equipment and other variable environmental conditions based on location _This role has been designated by the Company as Safety Sensitive._ Compensation: Base Pay Range: $50 - 60 per hour Disclaimer: We strive to provide competitive compensation for this position, tailored to a variety of factors.
