Sr. Accountant

Description Robert Half Management Resources is currently looking for an experienced non-profit Senior Accountant or Assistant Controller to support a client engagement in Dayton, Ohio. This role will provide general accounting support to a Dayton-area non-profit, to include items such as: grant accounting, grant reconciliations, month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, and other ad hoc non-profit accounting tasks. Role is based at the client's location in downtown Dayton. This is a short-term (3+ month) contract role, with potential for hire by the client following the contract period. Responsibilities: u2022 Manage month-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in financial reporting. u2022 Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure financial data integrity. u2022 Prepare and post journal entries in compliance with accounting standards. u2022 Perform bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner. u2022 Assist with budgeting processes, including allocations and forecasting. u2022 Support financial reporting related to government grants and non-profit funding. u2022 Collaborate with teams to ensure compliance with grant requirements and allocations. u2022 Utilize Sage Intacct software for accounting operations and reporting. u2022 Provide insights and recommendations to improve financial processes and controls. u2022 Work closely with leadership to support organizational financial goals. Requirements u2022 Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in non-profit organizations. u2022 Proficiency in month-end close, general ledger management, and account reconciliations. u2022 Knowledge of Sage Intacct or similar accounting software. u2022 Familiarity with government grants and non-profit funding processes. u2022 Strong understanding of journal entries and financial reporting. u2022 Experience with budgeting and allocation practices. u2022 Ability to work onsite during the contract period, with potential for hybrid upon conversion. u2022 Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
