Weu2019re looking for an experienced Sr. Staff Software Engineer to join our Engineering team. This is a hybrid role, reporting in the Bellevue, WA office 3 days a week. Reporting to the Director of Engineering, you'll be responsible for: + Designing and implementing scalable, high-performance backend services and APIs + Ensuring code quality by writing and maintaining unit, integration, and performance tests; monitor, debug, and optimize system performance + Mentoring junior engineers, fostering their growth, and upholding best practices through active participation in code reviews + Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated solutions and contribute to Agile/Scrum processes like sprint planning and retrospectives + Participating in on-call rotation to support a highly available engineering platform and ensure compliance with federal guidelines What Weu2019re Looking for (Minimum Qualifications) + 8+ years of experience with proficiency coding in a modern Object-Oriented language + Expertise in designing, analyzing, and resolving issues in large-scale distributed systems + Demonstrated exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail for designing robust solutions + Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and one or more major cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) + Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent professional experience), coupled with strong adaptability and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced Agile environment What Will Make You Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications) + Demonstrate excellent leadership, communication, and cross-team collaboration skills, with the ability to navigate ambiguity, make high-impact technical decisions, and drive initiatives with minimal oversight + Proficiency with one or more AI code-assistance tools (e.g., Windsurf, Cursor, Claude) to accelerate development, refactoring, unit test creation, and troubleshooting + Exposure to DevOps automation workflows and CI/CD pipelines #LI-JM1 #LI-Hybrid Zscaleru2019s salary ranges are benchmarked and are determined by role and level.
