Manufacturing Supervisor

JOB REQUIREMENTS: JOB SUMMARY This position is responsible for leadingmanufacturing teams to meet production schedule while maintainingquality and process improvement/lean objectives. It is imperative thatthe Supervisor continuously improve productivity and minimize safetyrisks in their department/s. The Supervisor is responsible formaintaining/enhancing productivity and safety in their department/s, andis responsible for ensuring appropriate training is provided to developcore skills. PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Supervise employees:Set work assignments and objectives, set performance and qualityexpectations, assist employees to resolve production problems, maintainaccurate time records, and ensure all employees have current andnecessary training, maintain an orderly and safe work environmentEstablish expectations of workmanship to meet quality requirements andfollow work in process closely to assure that these are vestigate processes that are out of conformance and take appropriateaction to eliminate. Work closely with others in ManufacturingOperations to assure compliance with the established ManufacturingProcedures and Engineering Instructions. Review processes anddepartmental layout to assure lowest production costs and highest shoplabor efficiency. Participate in hiring process and develop trainingplans for new employees. Regularly assess employee performance toCompany expectations, resolve employee problems, conduct investigationsinto safety, quality, or other incidents, and administer disciplinewithin the corporate guidelines. Conduct necessary investigationsrelated to quality, safety, or other production related matters. Clearlyunderstand plant and area goals and be able to communicate themeffectively. Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunitiesthat align with plant area goals. Comply with Collective BargainingAgreement. Assist Human Resources in assessing bargaining strategiesduring negotiating periods. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES The Supervisoris responsible for all activities that occur in his/her department. S/hemust be thoroughly knowledgeable of all processes, procedures andinstructions that are applicable in his/her respective department.
