Join us Role Summary: The role of the Lead Surgical Tech is to assist the daily operations of the Operating Room facilitating efficiency, team work, safety and quality of care under the direction of the OR Manager/Director. Your responsibilities will include: + Leading surgical preparation by organizing suites, equipment, and instruments to ensure readiness for every procedure + Scrubbing in and supporting surgeons through complex cardiac surgeries, anticipating needs and maintaining a safe, sterile environment + Guiding and mentoring surgical technologists, serving as a role model while training new team members and reinforcing best practices + Overseeing quality and safety by managing counts, handling specimens, and ensuring compliance with infection prevention standards + Driving teamwork and efficiency through effective communication, rapid problem-solving, and support for on-call and emergency cases What qualifications you will need: + Required Education: Surgical Technologist: graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program. If LPN in surgical Technologist role: graduate of an accredited LPN program + Preferred Education: Associate of Science in Surgical Technology or Applied Science. + Required License: Surgical Technologist: Current BCLS certification. Certification is to be obtained within one year of date of hire for individuals hired after August 1, 2007. LPN in Surgical Technologist role: Current BCLS certification. Current NC license. Certification is to be obtained within one year of date of hire. Individuals hired prior to August 1, 2007 are exempt from the certification requirement. + Required Experience: Surgical Technologist: Three years surgical technician experience with an Associate of Science in Surgical Technology or Applied Science OR 3 years surgical technologist experience in an operating room setting.
