Job Description Role Overview We are seeking a seasoned, people-oriented leader for the role of Director of Strategic Programs and Business Operations . You will function as a key executive partner, leading a dedicated team while influencing and enabling results across the broader organization. This is a true management role: you will build, scale, and lead high-performing teams; delegate effectively to get complex work done through others; drive accountability at all levels; and invest in mentoring and developing your direct reports and emerging talent. You will bridge strategy and execution advising on priorities, optimizing operations, and ensuring alignment with OCI's vision while fostering organizational health, culture, and growth in a dynamic, high-stakes cloud environment. Key Responsibilities + Operational Excellence & Rhythm of the Business u2014 Plan, manage, and oversee team activities providing end-to-end operational support (process improvement, data analytics, infrastructure/tool ownership, compliance). Establish and drive the cadence of reviews, leadership meetings, strategy sessions, and holistic improvements in organizational effectiveness, efficiency, employee engagement, and communications. + Team Leadership & Development u2014 Build, hire, scale, and lead a high-performing operational support team; attract top talent, provide ongoing coaching/mentoring, conduct performance evaluations, and create individualized development plans to grow team members into future leaders. Foster a culture of ownership, continuous learning, and professional advancement within your function. + Getting Work Done Through Others u2014 Delegate strategically across your team and cross-functional partners (engineering, finance, HR, recruiting, legal, service delivery); hold leaders and contributors accountable for results; influence without direct authority in matrixed settings to drive execution, remove blockers, and deliver on business outcomes. + Strategic Advisory & Organizational Building u2014 Advise the senior executive leadership ( VP+) on initiative prioritization, resource allocation, investment areas, and cross-functional integration to maximize impact on user experience and growth. Identify and champion efforts to build organizational capabilities, scale processes, and align short- and long-term strategies with OCI's mission. + Process Optimization & Issue Resolution u2014 Lead continuous improvement initiatives using data-driven insights; dive deep into critical experiential/technical issues; proactively redefine processes through your team to eliminate obstacles and enable success in fast-paced cloud computing. + People, Culture & Organizational Health u2014 Partner closely with VP, HR, and leadership to analyze employee feedback (e.g. surveys), develop and execute strategies for morale, engagement, and culture enhancement; champion fun events, DEI efforts, and a supportive environment. Build cross-org relationships rooted in empathy and trust to facilitate broader success. + Talent Acquisition & Onboarding u2014 Elevate partnerships with Recruiting to attract world-class talent; accelerate hiring pipelines; hold managers accountable for positive onboarding and integration experiences. + Budget & Resource Stewardship u2014 Actively manage CAPEX/OPEX budgets; optimize resource application across initiatives to support scalable growth. + Communications & Stakeholder Influence u2014 Define and manage executive-level communications (narratives, staff engagements, press/customer interactions); cultivate influential relationships to drive alignment and results. Qualifications & Skills Required: 10+; years of progressive leadership experience in technical/strategic operations, program management, or Chief of Staff roles in cloud, SaaS, or enterprise tech environments, including 5+ years directly managing and developing teams. + Proven track record of building and scaling organizations, mentoring direct reports, and achieving results through others in matrixed, high-growth settings. + Expertise in process improvement (Lean/Six Sigma), data analytics, and strategic planning/execution. + Exceptional leadership presence: coaching/mentoring skills, ability to inspire teams, influence stakeholders, and drive accountability. + Strong strategic thinking, analytical rigor, communication, and adaptability in ambiguous, fast-paced environments. Preferred / Nice-to-have: + Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field (Master's/MBA strongly preferred). + Experience in cloud infrastructure/services (e.g., OCI, AWS, Azure), data services, or large-scale SaaS operations. + Agile methodologies, budgeting/hiring leadership, and employee engagement strategy experience. + Technical proficiency with quick adaptation to new tools in cloud contexts. + Demonstrated success in talent development, culture building, and organizational health initiatives. Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only US: Hiring Range in USD from: $139,400 to $291,800 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.
