G&A Partners' client, a faith based organization is currently seeking a Director of Development & Engagement to join its team in Humble, TX.SummaryThe Director of Development and Engagement will lead comprehensive strategies that foster donor development, church-wide engagement, and stewardship communications. This dual role focuses on cultivating mid-level, major, and legacy donors while also fostering engagement across the church ecosystem—including staff, volunteers, community partners, and stakeholders. The Director will also provide leadership in storytelling, engagement campaigns, internal communication, grant writing, giving platform evaluation, and data-informed reporting to support the church's mission and growth.GENERALRegularly attend Church services and Bible Study.Support the church’s financial vision through tithes and offerings.Be early and prepared for all scheduled meetings.Build exemplary relationships with the First Family, church staff and volunteers, members, partners, and the community.Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Pastor or Director of Operations.DEVELOPMENT RESPONSIBILITIES:DONOR DEVELOPMENT & ENGAGEMENTDesign and execute donor campaigns to enhance acquisition, retention, and satisfaction.Cultivate and steward mid-level, major, and legacy donors.Evaluate giving platforms and recommend enhancements to improve donor experience and confidence.Track and analyze weekly giving trends and donor engagement metrics.Develop systems to increase internal and external giving and promote consistent stewardship.Write donor appreciation letters on behalf of the Senior Pastor.STRATEGIC PLANNING & EXECUTIONLead the creation and implementation of a strategic fundraising plan aligned with organizational goals (e.g., Big Give).Identify and pursue new funding opportunities, including corporate, foundation, and individual giving.GRANT WRITING & MANAGEMENTResearch, write, and submit compelling grant proposals to foundations, corporations, and public entities.Maintain a calendar of grant opportunities and reporting deadlines to ensure timely submissions and accountability.ENGAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIESCHURCH & COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENTDevelop strategies that foster engagement among staff, volunteers, and the broader congregation.Coordinate internal communications that reinforce vision and encourage participation in giving and service.Partner with ministry teams to develop monthly storytelling that highlights impact and encourages stewardship.Lead content development and dissemination of recurring communication pieces such as:• Monthly e-blasts• Haiti Ministry Progress Reports• Building Project Progress Updates• Testimonial storytelling videosPARTNER & COMMUNITY RELATIONSHIP BUILDINGBuild and maintain relationships with external partners, donors, and stakeholders to advance the church’s mission.Identify and manage opportunities to collaborate with civic, educational, and philanthropic institutions.TRAVEL & FIELD ENGAGEMENTTravel with the Senior Pastor and church leaders to document impact stories and gather video footage of ministry initiatives (e.g., student interviews, HBCU partnerships, STEM Golf Tournament, Haiti outreach).Leverage these assets to produce storytelling campaigns for donors and the congregation.BUDGET & REPORTINGManage the development and engagement budget, ensuring effective resource allocation.Prepare regular and comprehensive reports on giving trends, campaign outcomes, and engagement KPIs.PROJECT MANAGEMENTOversee project timelines and deliverables for development initiatives, ensuring the realization of goals.Collaborate with internal teams to align development activities with broader organizational strategies.Requires a bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.Must have 5-7 years of progressive experience in nonprofit fundraising, donor development, and engagement.Must have a proven track record of success in securing mid-level and major gifts ($10,000-$100,000+).Ability to research, write, submit, and manage grant proposals for public and private funding sources.Experience with funder relationship management.Experience managing budgets of $500K+ and leading multi-channel fundraising initiatives.May direct and lead the work of others.Must demonstrate excellent customer service skills at all times.Must possess the following skills: exceptional written, communication, and relationshipbuilding skills; Actual wages will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of G&A’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include commissions, annual bonuses, and program specific rewards.
