Regardless of how, when or where you want to fly, our mission is simple;deliver a premium, personalized aviation experience for every customer.Role Overview: WhatYou’llBe DoingIn this role,the Director, SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting (Chamblee, GA or New York City, NY) will lead our SEC reporting function and own the preparation and review of SEC filings, including Forms 10-K and 10-Q, utilizing Workiva.The Director, SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting will work cross-functionally on SEC reporting matters for preparation and review of financial statements, footnote disclosures, MD&Aand relevant disclosure checklists.Additionally, the Director, SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting should have US GAAP and SEC Regsexpertisein applying and interpreting technical accounting, reporting and disclosure requirements, as well as a strong understanding of economics and business matters.Direct interaction with executives, senior management, in-house/external legal teams, auditors andtaxand other advisors.Your Key Responsibilities (Essential Functions)Serve as the subject matter expert on U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations.Research and document technical accounting issues, including revenue recognition, lease accounting, share-based compensation, and business combinationsDraft technical accounting memos and position papersReview material contracts for accounting implicationsLead the implementation of new accounting standards and pronouncementsManage the SEC reporting calendar and ensuretimelyexecution of all filingsOversee XBRL tagging and ensure accuracy and completeness of disclosuresCoordinate internal and external reviews of SEC filings, including tie-outs and audit support.Lead the interim reviews and annual audit processes with the external auditorsPrepare materials for the quarterly disclosure committee and audit committee meetingsWork directly with the Investor Relations and Legal teams on a quarterly and annual basis with respect to the drafting and review of press releases, earnings releases, investorlettersand related SEC filingsSupport the internal audit team with respect to SOX controls related to the SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting functionsLead and mentor a team of accounting professionalsSpecial projects in support of broader corporate initiativesWhat You Bring to the Table: Education &Certification RequirementsWe’relooking for someone who has auniquemix of experience, skills, and passion for what we do:A minimum of 8 years of experience with recent public accounting experienceBachelor’s degree in AccountingAn active CPA licenseProventrack recordin technical accounting research and writing memosDeep knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC regulations, and SOX complianceHands on experience with SEC Filings (10-K, 10-Q, S-1, S-4, 8-K etc.)Strong written and verbal communication skills for presenting complex accounting mattersAbility to lead and mentor teamsHigh attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to work cross-functionally with Legal, FP&A, Tax, InvestorRelationsand Human ResourcesWorking knowledge of Workivaa mustand NetSuite a plusWhat We Offer: Salary Range & BenefitsAt Wheels Up, we believe in fair compensation based on experience, skills, and qualifications. The salary for this role ranges from $165,000/Yr.to $175,000/Yr., depending on a variety of factors. Wedon’ttypically start individuals at the top of the salary range; your place within the range is based on what you bring to the table.
