No County Suffolk Street Address Pilgrim Psychiatric Center - Peconic Center 550 East Main Street, Suite 101 City Riverhead State NY Zip Code 11901 Duties Description Pilgrim Psychiatric Center (PPC), an Office of Mental Health (OMH) Joint Commission accredited facility, is recruiting a Board-Certified Psychiatrist.PPC provides comprehensive care that is community-based and occurs in the individualu2019s home. The goal of the ACT team is to maintain care to the individual in their natural environment and reduce demand on emergency departments and inpatient hospital services. The Psychiatrist will:u2022 Train and supervise residents in safe and appropriate administration of psychiatric careu2022 Provide primary psychiatric care to patientsu2022 Respond to urgent or emergency clinical issues u2022 Collaborate with other health care professionals to achieve treatment goals and ensure continuity and quality of careu2022 Assess and refer individuals for admission, transfer, discharge, and further treatmentu2022 Review and maintain medical records and documentation consistent with facility, agency, State, and federal guidelinesu2022 Serve as members of a multidisciplinary treatment teamu2022 Monitor assisted Outpatient Treatment (AOT) patients and respond to AOT ordersu2022 Provide Substance Use Disorder (SUD) treatment Minimum Qualifications Candidates from outside or within State Service can be considered for hire under the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement u2013 Statewide (HELPS) program if they have:Psychiatrist 1: License and current registration to practice medicine in New York State, and completion of a training program in psychiatry approved by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN).Psychiatrist 2: License and current registration to practice medicine in New York State, and certification in psychiatry approved by the ABPN.ORCandidates from within State Service can be considered for a competitive class appointment if they have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.Limited permit option: If you are licensed in another state or by written examination in Canada, AND meet the other requirements for Psychiatrist 1 or 2, you are also eligible if you have a current limited permit to practice medicine in New York State. If appointed, you must obtain your license within one year of the date your limited was issued. Failure to do so will result in removal from your position. Continued employment as a Psychiatrist 1 or Psychiatrist 2 is dependent upon current licensure to practice medicine and in the case of Psychiatrist 1 or Psychiatrist 2, current certification in child and adolescent psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
