Your recruiter will provide the most up-to-date details during the hiring process._ Responsibilities Collect and prepare tissue specimens for routine and special procedures to confirm a patient diagnosis. + Follow established procedures for collecting and processing biological specimens for analysis. + Input patient demographics into computer system. Report results and maintain documentation. + Operate and maintain equipment used for embedding and sectioning specimens. + Follow safety requirements and appropriately handle and dispose of chemicals. + Perform histological preparation of samples including the embedding, cutting and staining of tissue for pathology. + Perform special stains on tissue, including the operation and maintenance of equipment and supplies used in this task. Requirements Licensure / Certification / Registration: + Histological Tech credentialed from the American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP-BOC) preferred. Education: + High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
