DescriptionAmazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for a Data Center Technician to join our growing infrastructure operations team. The position will help ensure overall availability and reliability to meet or exceed defined service levels of data center operations. This role requires performing hardware and network diagnostics, followed by physical repairs. Additionally, the position includes a rotation schedule where team members are designated as the primary responders to rapidly resolve issues that impact service availability during their assigned shifts. All candidates should be willing to work both independently and with a team. Work prioritization, organizational skills, effective communication, and the ability to react quickly are critical to being successful. In addition to hardware and network repair, candidates will install equipment, create documentation, innovate solutions, participate in site-level project work, and fix complex problems within the Data Center space. You will be required to work shift work that will include days/nights/weekends/holidays. Traveling within and outside of regional work area is required. Key job responsibilities u2022 Performing server rack installations, hardware break-fix on various components, troubleshooting network issues, responding to operational incidents that impact service availability, and carrying out routine network, server hardware, and operating system repairs to contribute to the overall availability of AWS services u2022 Serving as a primary contact point for both internal and external stakeholders, including engineers, software developers, vendors, and contractors u2022 Performing on-call duties and participating in scheduled maintenance and change management activities u2022 Contributing to documentation and process improvement initiatives based on your analysis of operational issues u2022 Helping to interview, train and onboard new team members Traveling within and outside of regional work area is required. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
