This role gives you the opportunity to contribute to multiu2011disciplinary transportation projects focused on highway, roadway, and interchange improvements throughout the Baltimore region and the state.You will serve as a mid-level Roadway Design Engineer on major Maryland transportation projectsu2014supporting preliminary and final design and preparing documentation that meets the standards and requirements of the Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA), Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA), and local county and city governments.What Youu2019ll Be Doing:u2022 Provide technical expertise across all aspects of highway and roadway design within Maryland, including designu2011bidu2011build and designu2011build delivery.u2022 Prepare roadway designs using MDOT SHA, MDTA, and local jurisdiction standards, as well as applicable AASHTO criteria.u2022 Develop plans from conceptual through final design including geometrics, maintenance of traffic, traffic control, and roadway drainage consistent with Maryland design manuals and specifications.u2022 Develop 3D models that comply with MDOT SHA and other agency design standards while integrating designs from other disciplines into a cohesive model.u2022 Prepare specifications, engineeru2019s estimates, bid packages, and supporting engineering reports.u2022 Coordinate daily with multiu2011discipline teams (drainage, structures, traffic, public involvement, environmental).u2022 Support plan quality reviews and participate in value engineering studies.u2022 Lead and coordinate work of design engineers and technicians; ensure schedules and budgets are maintained.u2022 Engage with management on technical approaches, cost controls, scheduling, and upcoming pursuit opportunities.#LM1236 u2022 Bacheloru2019s degree in Civil Engineeringu2022 Previous professional project experience in the highway/roadway transportation sector, ideally supporting large infrastructure programs in Maryland.u2022 Professional Engineer (PE) in Marylandu2022 Proficiency with MicroStation, InRoads, and OpenRoads Designer, which are supported and required within MDOT SHAu2019s CAD standards and ProjectWise environment.u2022 Demonstrated track record of roadway design for state-level agencies (preference for MDOT SHA or MDTA work).u2022 Strong understanding of AASHTO, FHWA, MUTCD, and Marylandu2011specific standards including MDOT SHA drainage, traffic control, and design manuals.u2022 Experience with roadway geometrics, final design, and transportation technical documentation.Ideally, Youu2019ll Also Have:u2022 Working knowledge of ProjectWiseu2022 Prior experience with MDOT SHA policies, procedures, and design-build guidance.u2022 Experience supporting major designu2011build or P3 transportation projects.u2022 Active involvement in professional organizationsJacobs is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
