This role focuses on building scalable, reliable, and secure AI-enabled services that integrate with internal platforms, data systems, and user-facing applications. This role is primarily backend-focused, with approximately 70% of time spent on backend systems and services and 30% of time contributing to frontend and user interface work . The ideal candidate has strong experience delivering backend services in cloud environments and is comfortable working with modern AI architectures, including agent-based systems, workflows, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG). The engineer will work closely with product managers and software teams to deliver AI-enabled capabilities into production environments. Responsibilities u2022 Design, develop, and deploy AI-enabled services and agent-based workflows u2022 Build and maintain API-driven backend services supporting AI-powered applications u2022 Contribute to frontend components and user interfaces as needed to support AI workflows u2022 Implement multi-step AI workflows capable of tool usage, data retrieval, and external system integration u2022 Integrate AI systems with enterprise data platforms and business systems u2022 Develop and maintain observability, logging, and monitoring for AI services u2022 Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions u2022 Ensure solutions meet security, compliance, and governance standards u2022 Participate in architectural reviews and contribute to platform standards and best practices Technologies & Platforms u2022 Programming Languages & Frameworks: C#, Python, Node.js (JavaScript / TypeScript), RESTful APIs u2022 AI Systems & Workflows: LLMs, MCPs, agent-based workflows, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) u2022 Data & Storage: SQL, relational data modeling, PostgreSQL, Azure SQL u2022 Cloud & Execution Platforms: Azure Container Apps, Docker, containerized services; Vercel Sandboxes or similar isolated execution environments u2022 Workflow Orchestration: Azure Functions Durable Task Scheduler, Vercel Workflows, or similar orchestration frameworks u2022 Developer Tooling: Cursor IDE or similar IDEs with agentic coding capabilities, Git-based workflows Qualifications u2022 Bacheloru2019s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience) u2022 3+ years of professional software engineering experience u2022 Experience building and operating backend APIs and services u2022 Hands-on experience with MCPs and AI workflows u2022 Experience designing and operating containerized services, including Docker and container sandboxing u2022 Hands-on experience with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems u2022 Proficiency with SQL and relational database design u2022 Experience developing and deploying cloud-native applications in production environments #LI-AK1 Preferred Qualifications u2022 Experience designing or operating agent-based AI systems in enterprise environments u2022 Experience with PostgreSQL u2022 Prompt engineering experience u2022 Familiarity with Claude Agent SDK, Anthropic tooling, or similar agent frameworks u2022 Experience with LangFuse or other AI observability and tracing platforms u2022 Experience using Node.js ORMs such as Prisma or Drizzle u2022 Experience building APIs with Express, Fastify, or similar Node-based frameworks u2022 Experience contributing to frontend and UI development for AI-enabled applications u2022 Familiarity with React and modern frontend development practices u2022 Experience using Shadcn UI or similar component libraries u2022 Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines Other Requirements: + Regular, reliable attendance + Work productively and meet deadlines timely + Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment. + Perform work safely and effectively.
