Adecco Healthcare & Life Sciences is hiring a contract Sr Formulation Technician for our Medical Supply and Instrumentation partner in Austin, TX. The anticipated hourly wage for this position is between $26 and $26.50. Hourly wage may depend upon experience, education, geographic location, and other factors. Available paid leave may include Paid Sick Leave, where required by law; any other paid leave required by Federal, State, or local law; and Holiday pay upon meeting eligibility criteria You will contribute to the production and testing of various reagents for qPCR and sample preparation applications including master mixes, nucleic acid purification, and internal positive controls for use in various workflows such as veterinary diagnostics, USDA-certified, and custom products. We are seeking an upbeat individual with strong communication, technical, and operational skills to join our team as a Sr. Formulation Technician. A Day in the Life: u2022 Formulate buffers and other reagents for biotech applications at 100 L to 2,000 L scale in a clean manufacturing environment u2022 Ability to lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds with or without accommodation wearing appropriate PPE including face mask, lab coat, and gloves. u2022 Isolate and dilute nucleic acids in a manufacturing environment, including RNA and DNA, using pipetting and spectrophotometric techniques. u2022 Perform quality control testing on buffers and nucleic acids, including pH, conductivity, agarose gels, and nucleic acid purification using magnetic beads and quantification by qPCR. u2022 Troubleshoot manufacturing and quality control activities and record results in technical reports. u2022 Revise and edit existing manufacturing protocols; participate in the development of manufacturing protocols for new products. u2022 Actively participate in Practical Process Improvement (PPI) projects, including kaizens. u2022 Manage manufacturing metrics aimed at process control and productivity savings. u2022 Prioritize and schedule work to ensure on-time delivery. u2022 Accurately and optimally manage inventory. u2022 Work collaboratively with peers from your own and other groups. u2022 Train co-workers in the proper use of instrumentation, manufacturing processes, and manufacturing software. u2022 Adhere to ISO guidelines, USDA regulations u2022 Adopt a positive demeanor which contributes to a healthy work environment. u2022 Ability to work with chemicals. u2022 Other duties as assigned. Experience and Education u2022 Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Biochemistry or related field. u2022 1+ years of related post-undergraduate experience preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities u2022 Demonstrated ability in operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining complex laboratory equipment u2022 Detailed understanding of chemical interaction necessary for PCR systems, including interactions of nucleotides, enzymes, oligos, and buffers (pH, ionic concentration). u2022 Familiarity with troubleshooting techniques including experimental design and statistical quality control.
