School of EducationPosition SummaryHoused within the School of Education at Metropolitan State University of Denver (MSU Denver), the Alternative Licensure Program (ALP) provides a vital and innovative pathway into teaching in PreK-12 classrooms, including special education and all secondary content areas. The School of Education is seeking the next energetic and innovative director who will manage all aspects of ALP, including advising potential candidates; instructor and coach hiring and supervision; coordinating curriculum development; communicating with partner school districts, on-campus faculty and staff, seek out collaborative and innovative partnerships, and the Colorado Department of Education; promoting the program to new school partners, managing the budget; and program evaluation. This person may also teach courses and coach candidates in their respective school settings, as needed. The successful candidate must have the ability to work with and be sensitive to the educational needs of a diverse urban population.The University is particularly interested in applicants who have experience working with students from diverse backgrounds and a demonstrated commitment to improving access to higher education for underrepresented groups.
