Duties include sign fabrication, signordering, scheduling crews, training and guiding staff, responding andcoordinating after-hours work, participating in call-back rotation,operation and training of motorized equipment in the unit, data entry,inspection of signs, assuring safe digging, and preparing and inspectingBlue Stake requests.Various location options:Location 2053: 5701 E. McNeil Rd, Show Low, AZ 85901Job Duties:Overseas & directs their work as well as the crew and vendors (whenneeded) to maintain, install and / or fabricate roadway signs, signstructures and their components as directed by the supervisor. Ensurestraffic control is adequate for work zones and uses ERS(511) tocommunicate traffic restrictions as needed.Operates and trains others on various truck-mounted, and / or standalone motorized vehicles / equipment and powered / non-powered equipmentand tools in order to perform assigned duties. Documents own work aswell as crew work in PeCoS, FIS, and other programs as directed bysupervisor. Utilizes laptop computer with GPS to access and collectfeatures along the highway as needed. Assists supervisor in yearlyinventories-Fixed assets, material reconciliations, night inspections,and other inspections as needed.Schedules and organizes scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of allequipment and tools. Performs and directs maintenance pre-checks andoperational / safety procedures for all equipment and tools.Participates in call-back rotation and responds to call-backs for signrelated issues from the Traffic Operations Center (TOC), Supervision,and other applicable agencies and departments. Operates in accordancewith the unit's call-back policy.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):KNOWLEDGE OF:Performance Controlled System (PeCoS) entry.Feature Inventory System (FIS) entry.Federal, State and agency laws, procedures.Sign materials. -Google Suite programs.SKILLS IN:Extruded and flat sheet sign repair and new construction.Problem prehend and give directions.ABILITY TO:Lead and motivate others.Have effective communication with crew and supervision.Plan, coordinate, analyze, and perform multiple tasks.Selective Preference(s):2-3 years experience equivalent to a HOT 11-2 years experience equivalent to a HOT 21-2 years experience equivalent to a HOT 3Pre-Employment Requirements:Valid class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with appropriateendorsements. - This position requires driving or the use of a vehicleas an essential function of the job, and the following requirementsapply. Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business mustpossess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate drivers license,complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessarydrivers license record checks. The license must be current, unexpired,and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state businessare subject to drivers license record checks, must maintain acceptabledriving records, and must complete all required driver training. Anemployee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shallmaintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see ArizonaAdministrative Code (A.A.C.)
