If you're passionate about using technology to improve human life, this is where your work truly matters What you will accomplish in this role The Instructional Designer serves in a development/design capacity for the creation of educational deliverables. This position requires an understanding of adult learning principles, needs analysis, course development, graphic design principles and training program implementation. The Instructional Designer develops content with a focus on maintainability and continuous improvement, ensuring deliverables are accurate, engaging, and easy to update. Major Responsibilities: The Instructional Designer II has experience creating online courses and static deliverables from the point of inception through delivery, including instructional graphic design skills. The Instructional Designer II has primary responsibility for the development of training modules and other educational materials both web-based and static. The Designer will be responsible for developing content and ensuring that the deliverables meet the needs of the end users. Deliverables should be designed with foresight for frequent updates and structured to follow established templates and standards to streamline long-term maintenance. In collaboration with project leadership the Instructional Designer creates and maintains educational content. The following are competencies and expectations for the role at an intermediate level: u2022written and oral communication skills u2022design and development of asynchronous online courses u2022standard course authoring tools u2022needs assessment u2022adult learning principles u2022project management u2022graphic design u2022knowledge of LMS delivery platform Duties may also include collaborating with peers in any combination of the following: u2022Design, develop and update innovative, learner-focused deliverables that integrate adult learning principles and may incorporate new tools or approaches to elevate outcomes and engagement. collaborate on process improvements and revision of standards/templates u2022Consult with business owners to determine best solution to fit targets for time, quality and requirements fulfillment. At the deliverable level, asks clarifying questions of subject matter experts and stakeholders to ensure accuracy, flow, and usability of materials. u2022Intermediate proficiency with standards and technology for QA. Conduct thorough quality assurance reviews, proactively testing for functionality, usability, and accessibility, and integrate evaluation/learner feedback into updates. u2022Communicate project status within the department, with other department representatives, and with higher organizational levels; provide formal status reporting on a periodic basis to management staff as requested. u2022 Contribute to intra-departmental teams. u2022Review course evaluations to ensure continuous improvement of training materials and program. Coordinate with senior staff to implement course revision plans to improve outcomes. u2022Demonstrate professionalism and alignment with HCAu2019s mission, values, and Code of Conduct; represent DT&I positively in cross-team initiatives and stakeholder engagement. u2022Communicate clearly in writing and speaking, avoiding filler words, and adapting tone and style to meet the needs of diverse audiences. u2022Seek, accept, and apply feedback constructively; adapt quickly to change; recommend new tools or approaches that enhance efficiency and outcomes. Education & Experience: u2022 Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Communications, Graphic Design, Marketing or Education required, Master's degree preferred u2022 3+ years of experience in Instructional Design, Graphic Design, Audio/Video Editing or Learning Development required u2022 3+ years of experience in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically PowerPoint and Word required u2022 3+ years of experience in Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, Camtasia or other eLearning authoring tool required u2022 Position located in Nashville, TN At HCA Healthcare, we are committed to fostering a culture of growth that allows you to build the career of a lifetime.
