Description We are looking for an experienced Controller to join a dynamic nonprofit organization based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This role offers the opportunity to oversee financial operations while contributing to the organization's community-driven mission. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in nonprofit accounting and a proven ability to manage financial processes efficiently. Responsibilities: u2022 Oversee all aspects of the organization's financial operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable regulations. u2022 Manage the month-end close process, including preparing financial statements and reconciling accounts. u2022 Supervise and mentor one team member, supporting their growth and ensuring effective collaboration. u2022 Handle full-cycle accounting tasks, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll management. u2022 Utilize QuickBooks to maintain accurate financial records and streamline reporting processes. u2022 Ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards and practices. u2022 Collaborate with leadership to create and manage budgets that align with organizational goals. u2022 Provide financial insights and analysis to support strategic decision-making. u2022 Assist with the transition to a new office space, ensuring financial resources are allocated appropriately. u2022 Work closely with external auditors to facilitate annual audits and ensure transparency. Requirements u2022 Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or financial management, preferably within a nonprofit organization. u2022 Proficiency in QuickBooks and other accounting software. u2022 Strong knowledge of nonprofit accounting principles and practices. u2022 Demonstrated ability to manage month-end close processes and prepare accurate financial statements. u2022 Experience with full-cycle accounting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll. u2022 Excellent organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple priorities effectively. u2022 Strong analytical skills with the ability to provide actionable financial insights. u2022 Proven leadership skills with the ability to supervise and develop team members.
