JOB REQUIREMENTS: Internal Reference Number: R1047266 SummaryResponsible for the coordination and completion of the audit reviews,reviewing audit work papers and reports completed by department staff,distributing reports to management, coordinating auditor's assignments,mentoring and coaching department staff, and assisting the departmentmanager with the direction of the workflow of various risk managementactivities and special projects.Description The Lead Medicare Auditor isa part-time remote position. What You'll Do: Independently andobjectively helps plan and execute audits in accordance withprofessional auditing standards. Performs or supports audits focusedprimarily on operational controls, asset safeguarding, and compliancewith procedures, laws, and regulations. Functions as in-charge auditorof the most complex audit reviews and/or cost reports. May conductreviews of account reconciliations performed by various financial areas.Identifies and analyzes related key processes, systems, and controls todetermine effectiveness. Communicates audit status and results tomanagement, with emphasis on discussing deficiencies and recommendingcorrective actions. Prepares formal written work papers and reports,documenting audit work performed and expressing conclusion. Assessesdesk reviews performed by subordinate auditors to ensure that qualityaudit work is performed and on-the-job training is provided asnecessary. Assists in ensuring that all assigned audits are completedand reviewed in accordance with Generally Accepted AccountingPrinciples, Generally Accepted Auditing Standards and, GovernmentAuditing Standards. Coordinates the completion of these assignments in amanner which results in timely completion of all assignments inaccordance with budget performance requirements as well as departmentalinterim goals. Directs the day-to-day efforts of assigned audit staff byreviewing and planning assignments, training, and providing leadershipand guidance. Assists in the development and revision of workinstructions, forms, and procedures.
