JobSummary There is a State of Wisconsin indentured apprenticeship programassociated with this occupation. Job Responsibilities The Distribution Worker performs thefollowing duties: Inspects and repairs customer natural gas house pipingand appliances Relocate, remove, and install gas services and mainsusing power equipment such as: backhoes, trenchers, plows, boringmachines. Assembles, installs, maintains and reads gas meters and meterset Turns gas on/off Investigates and repair gas leaks Repairing orassisting in repairs of damaged Company natural gas facilitiesCommunicate to the dispatcher, customer, and/or assist emergencyresponse personnel Performs compliance surveys Maintains vehicles andequipment Investigates high bill complaints Assists with constructionand repair work Operates construction equipment Locates mains andservices Maintains company buildings and grounds Miscellaneous duties asrequired or assigned Employees are expected to successfully complete WIJourneyman program and remain in an occupation associated with the GasDistribution Apprentice (GDA) program (Distribution Worker, DistributionWorker - Welder, Fitter, Regulation Technician and Regulation FitterTechnician) for a period of 2 years.
