JOB REQUIREMENTS: Continuing Resources Librarian Posting Number:201104650 Employment Status: Full Time Job Family: Faculty PositionOverview The Raynor Library at Marquette University seeks a forwardthinking, collaborative, and enthusiastic professional for the positionof Continuing Resources Librarian. A leading force for sustainablescholarly access and resource management at Marquette, the ContinuingResource Librarian oversees renewals, supports vendor licensingnegotiations, advances open and transformative access, tracks keystatistics, and applies data-informed strategies to achievecost-efficient access to continuing resources. This participatingfaculty position reports to the Associate Dean of Collection Servicesand works closely with colleagues in the Cataloging and Metadata andAcquisitions units. Duties and Responsibilities Serve as the initialcontact for resource renewals and vendor license negotiations. Work withvendors to address concerns, resolve issues, and troubleshoot technicalproblems. Manage workflows, documentation, and recordkeeping incollaboration with other Collection Services units to ensure reliablecampus access to needed continuing resources Oversee the collection andanalysis of continuing resource usage statistics. Collaborate withstakeholders across library units to synthesize eResource license andusage analysis to inform local collection decisions and assessmentprojects. Monitor trends in academic libraries and scholarly publishingand advise on initiatives to improve local practices. Improve useraccess to eResources by removing barriers in license and access models.Track and assess collections spending in collaboration with librarycolleagues. Participate in library initiatives, special projects,committees, and meetings as appropriate. Maintain flexibility andawareness of changes in the department and organization and contributeto the team effort by assuming other similar duties and responsibilitiesas assigned. Engage in professional development and contribute to thelibrary profession. OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities ALA -accredited master'sdegree in library or information science. Two years of experience inlibrary/vendor relations, license negotiation, or similar work inacademic, research, or special libraries. Proficiency with MicrosoftExcel. Knowledge and experience with electronic resources technicalstandards such as COUNTER , KBART , and SUSHI . Familiarity withreviewing and interpreting budget and spending information to facilitatedata driven negotiations with suppliers. Demonstrated skills incollecting, analyzing, and presenting library data to inform decisionmaking. Ability to adapt to a changing information landscape, managecompeting priorities, and tolerance for ambiguity. Demonstrated abilityto build relationships and work collaboratively with a diverse range ofindividuals and groups. Superior interpersonal, communication, andwriting skills. Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Skilled ininterpreting eResource licenses and ensuring vendor compliance withaccessibility standards. xperience with transformative or read &publish agreements including S2O (Subscribe to Open). Experience workingwith large-scale serials renewals processes, both internally and withserials agencies/vendors. Experience with integrated library systems,preferably ExLibris' Alma. Ability to develop and manage efficientworkflows/processes in support of strategic goals. Demonstrated projectmanagement experience. Commitment to the library profession as evidencedby presentations, publications, or other contributions.
