Summary The Associate Director for Patient Care Services is the Nurse Executive for South Texas Veterans Health Care System. She/he is responsible for the practice of nursing 24/7 by registered nurses, advance practice nurses, and allied health staff (LVNs, NAs, Health Techs, etc.). Responsibilities VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package: VA Nurse Total Rewards The Associate Director for Patient Care Services/Nurse Executive (ADPCS/NE) is the top executive within nursing and is a key member of the executive leadership team of the organization, involved in strategic planning, organizational assessment, and program development. The Associate Director for Patient Care Services/Nurse Executive has the authority and responsibility for establishing standards of nursing practice and ensuring the continuous and timely availability of quality nursing services. She/he is the chief spokesperson for organized nursing services and is the catalyst for the integration and collaboration of nursing with other professional disciplines and functional areas in the mutual achievement of patient-centered and organizational goals. The Associate Director for Patient Care Services/Nurse Executive will exercise final authority and approval over nursing functional statements/job descriptions, nursing care policies and procedures; nursing standards of patient care, treatment, and services; standards of nursing practice; nurse staffing plans; and standards to measure, assess, and improve patient outcomes. Pay: Competitive salary, regular salary increases, potential for performance awards Paid Time Off: 50 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year) Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement) Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm OR 08:00am - 4:30pm Remote: This is not a remote position.
