Actalent is Hiring a Back Office Medical Assistant - Float Position Job Description The back office float medical assistant will perform quality team-based patient care under the direct supervision of a clinician, handling both clinical and administrative functions to promote health and wellness in a safe and friendly environment. The role supports clinician and care management teams in assessing, maintaining chronic disease management, examining, and treating the patient population. The medical assistant is responsible for performing all laboratory testing procedures and phlebotomy, including venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks. Responsibilities + Perform quality team-based patient care under clinician supervision. + Support clinician and care management teams in chronic disease management. + Conduct laboratory testing procedures and phlebotomy, including venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks. + Take and record vitals, with preference for manual vitals. + Communicate and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the public. + Assess emergencies and act accordingly. + Float between locations as patient queue demands. Essential Skills + Medical assisting + Patient care + Phlebotomy experience + Ability to take manual vitals + Active BLS certification + Active driver's license + Knowledge of laboratory quality control requirements + Knowledge of basic medical terminology + Understanding of universal precaution procedures in medical safety practices + Ability to communicate effectively Additional Skills & Qualifications + High School diploma required + 2 years' experience within a clinic/back office healthcare setting + MA diploma OR Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) OR 3 years' MA experience + Bilingual English-Spanish preferred + Experience with TriMed EMR preferred + Flexibility to adjust to a changing work environment + Independence, responsibility, and organization skills Work Environment The position is 100% onsite in a pediatric clinic, occasionally floating between sites. The working hours are Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm, and every other Saturday, 7:45am-12pm. The clinics are located in Miami Beach, Midtown, Brickell, and Blue Lagoon, Miami, FL. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Miami, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25000.00 - $30000.00/yr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
