Description Location: UCHealth Colorado Center - Denver, CO Department: Sports Medicine Work Schedule: Full Time, 0.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks) Shift: Days Pay: $29.54 - $44.31 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience This position is an onsite role and does not offer a hybrid or remote option Job Summary: The Supervisor Athletic Trainer provides strategic leadership and advanced clinical expertise within the Sports Medicine department. This role is responsible for overseeing athletic training operations, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based care to athletes and active populations. The Supervisor Athletic Trainer leads and mentors athletic training staff, collaborates closely with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams, and plays a key role in program development, injury prevention initiatives, and operational excellence. This position balances hands-on clinical practice with administrative oversight to support optimal patient outcomes and organizational goals. Responsibilities: + Supervise, mentor, and evaluate athletic training staff, fostering professional development, accountability, and high clinical standards. + Oversee daily athletic training operations, including scheduling, staffing coverage, workflow optimization, and resource allocation. + Provide advanced clinical care, including injury evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation, and return-to-play decision-making, using evidence-based practices. + Collaborate with sports medicine physicians, physical therapists, strength and conditioning staff, coaches, and other stakeholders to coordinate comprehensive care plans. + Develop, implement, and monitor injury prevention, rehabilitation, and wellness programs tailored to athletic and active populations. + Ensure compliance with state licensure requirements, professional standards, organizational policies, and regulatory guidelines. + Participate in budget planning, supply management, and equipment purchasing to support efficient and cost-effective operations. + Lead quality improvement initiatives, including documentation standards, outcomes tracking, and patient safety efforts. + Serve as a clinical and operational resource during events, competitions, and emergency situations, including emergency action planning and response. + Contribute to strategic planning, program growth, and community or institutional outreach initiatives within the Sports Medicine specialty. Requirements: + Minimum Required Education: Bachelor's degree. Preferred: Master's degree. + Required Licensure/Certification: Certification by National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA). Registration with the State of Colorado as an Athletic Trainer. Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider. + Minimum Experience: 1 year-clinical experience in an Orthopedic clinic. Preferred: residency trained. + BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire. Employees are our number one asset.
