Job DescriptionThe Senior Credit Auditor performs and completes internal credit audits as assigned while researching and interpreting relevant regulations, policies, and procedures to assist in determining the scope and design of an audit program. This position is guided by general instruction and a reasonable amount of supervision, this candidate demonstrates a fair level of autonomy and ability to exercise independent judgement.Essential FunctionsEvaluate effectiveness of credit policies and procedures, identify weaknesses, provide suggestions for strengtheningKnowledge of Credit360/BancAudit/Nautilus/CBS/Data Analysis Tool/Audit Management SoftwareKeep track of and update schedule of whereabouts during auditsMeet departmental continuing education requirementsBe familiar with Northwest documentation/processes/proceduresResearch/interpret relevance of specific regulations/current literatureAssist in developing the scope, audit objectives, and audit program based on assessed risk of business unit/subject matterAssist in determining staffing requirements for AuditOversee/collect specific samples/dataOversee/record detailed information/data from samplesCheck results (findings) against samples for proper evidenceOversee/compile working papers as appropriateSummarize results/findingsAnalyze results as related to NorthwestPrepare meeting materials (soft, and final exits)Present relevant findings appropriately to department manager and auditorsProduce various audit reports/management letters/credit reportsAppraise adequacy of the corrective action taken to improve deficient conditionsWork with relevant personnel during the audit processEnsure document and data integrityManage personal workload/workflowIdentify and resolve problems/issuesDetect common themes & emerging risksContinue professional educationEnsure compliance with Northwest's policies and procedures, and Federal/State regulationsNavigate Microsoft Office Software, computer applications, and software specific to the department in order to maximize technology tools and gain efficiencyWork as part of a teamWork with on-site equipmentQualificationsBachelor's Degree Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred5 - 6 years credit review/business related experience required3 - 5 years bank auditing experience preferred3 - 5 years general business-related experience preferredAbility to apply advanced financial analysis techniquesAbility to interpret data and statisticsProven analytical skillsThe pay range for this position is generally $85,000-$100,000 per year. Actual pay is based on various factors including but not limited to the successful candidate's experience, skills, and knowledge.
