Summary This position is located at Bureau of Engraving and Printing, within the Security Division WCF. As a Police Officer, you will be you will be responsible for the enforcement of the Federal, State and local laws relating to the protection of human life, including the preservation of the civil rights of individuals. Responsibilities The following are the duties of this position at the TR-08. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties and will receive training to help you grow in this position. Serve as a United States Police Officer having authority derived from the Director of The Bureau of Engraving and Printing via the Secretary of the Treasury through Title 18, United States Code, Section 13 (18 U.S.C. u00a7 13) The Assimilative Crimes Act (ACA), Title 31, United States Code, Section 321 Money and Finance: Treasury and Title 40, United States Code, Section 1315 (b) (2) (A)-(C), Protection of Environment Code of Federal Regulations in policing Bureau of Engraving and Printing buildings and grounds to enforce all Federal, State and local laws enacted for the protection of persons and property and to prevent breaches of the peace, to suppress affrays or unlawful assemblies and to enforce any rules and regulations made and promulgated by the Secretary of the Treasury or the Director of the Bureau of Engraving and Printing. Prevent, detect, and investigate violations of laws, rules, and regulations involving accidents, misconduct, and misdemeanor to felony crimes. Bureau of Engraving and Printing Police Officers arrest violators assist in the prosecution of criminals and serves as a source of assistance to employees and the public in emergencies. Conduct investigations of crimes and maintain surveillance over the facility to protect and prevent such crimes. Conduct and completes investigations not referred to detectives. Arrest violators assists in the prosecution of criminals and serves as a source of assistance to employees and the public in emergencies. Requirements Conditions of Employment Lautenberg Amendment: This position requires carrying a firearm. Any person who has been convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence cannot lawfully possess a firearm or ammunition (Title 18, U.S.C., Section 922(g)(91).You will be ineligible to occupy this position if at any time you have been convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence, unless you received a pardon or your conviction was expunged or set aside - Maintaining firearm proficiency is also mandatory. Complete or have previously completed the Mixed Basic/Uniformed Police Training Program course(s) at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) in Glynco, GA. SUITABILITY, CLEARANCE & REQUIREMENTS: A background investigation will be required for all new hires. Appointment will be subject to the applicant's successful completion of a background investigation and favorable adjudication. Failure to successfully meet these requirements will be grounds for disqualification in the hiring process. The background investigation process conducted by the Bureau of Engraving and Printing is very thorough. Therefore, it is imperative that applicants exercise candor and honesty when answering background questionnaires, especially as it relates to arrest, employment, education, finances, illegal drug use, and/or other criminal history. Falsification discovered in security documents or during the background investigation process may result in an immediate negative suitability determination or immediate revocation of your interim clearance (if applicable). The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.
