Cytotechnologist PRN

Summary of Primary Function/General Purpose of Position Cytotechnologists evaluate patients' cell samples to notice subtle changes to accurately detect precancerous, malignant, and infectious conditions. They provide patient clinical data or microscopic findings to assist pathologists in the preparation of pathology reports. Essential Job Functions u2022 Stains, mounts, and studies cells of the human body under a microscope to detect evidence of cancer, hormonal abnormalities, and other pathological conditions following established standards and practices. u2022 Performs specimen processing and special procedures with or without pathologists for adequacy as needed. u2022 Functions as technical reference. u2022 Correlates data and detects discrepancies (clerical and technical) based on review of GYN (gynecology) and non-GYN requisitions and computer data entry orders.
