The core facility technician will assist the core director with sample preparation and instrument operation. Responsibilities include reagent preparation; biological sample processing and plastic embedding; thick and thin sectioning; negative staining; operation of a 120 kV transmission electron microscope; maintaining detailed records of all processed specimens; and managing online scheduling, project tracking, and billing through the iLab system.Over the past few years, the EM Core has seen a growing demand for electron microscopy services, particularly for advanced and emerging EM technologies.
