Licenses & Certifications and Educational RequirementsMedical Assistant (MA): Education: High school diploma (or GED) requiredplus one of the following: Completion of an MA program, or Completion of an EMT-Basic course, or Trained on the job MA AND oneyear experience in health care, or Completion of an MA Apprenticeprogram Certification: American Heart Association (AHA) Basic LifeSupport for the Healthcare Providers (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalentrequired within 90 days of hire. Experience: 1 year of healthcareexperience preferred. Medical Assistant Senior (MA Sr): Education: HSDiploma or GED is required. Certification: American Heart Association(AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Providers (BLS) or an AHAapproved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire. Additionally,one of the following is required: Military Medic/Corpsman training(must also obtain one of the certifications or licenses below within 6months of hire), or Certified/Registered Medical Assistant throughone of the following: Credentialed in ABR-OE (Assessment-BasedRecognition in Order Entry), or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or NRCMA - Medical Assistantthrough the National Association for Health Professionals, or CCMACertified Clinical Medical Assistant, or Certified Medical Assistantthrough the National Phlebotomy Certification Examination (NPCE) Certified Paramedic, or Advanced EMT, or Graduated from anaccredited Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) program and current active LPNlicense, or Other certification from an approved body as maintainedby Froedtert Human Resources Experience: 1 year of experience as medicalassistant or in the field of the credential held is required.
