Software Design Test Engineer 4

Job Description The Software Design Engineer in Test 4 (SDET 4) will play a key role in securing the Windows operating system by developing, implementing, and maintaining advanced testing activities. This role is part of a team focused on reducing security gapsu2014including initiatives like NTLM less authentication and Secure Future Initiative (SFI) effortsu2014to strengthen Windows' security posture by default. The engineer will design and build automation test frameworks, create scenario level automated test cases, troubleshoot failures, and ensure high quality test execution for critical security components. Typical Day in the Role u2022u2003Understand end to end user authentication flows and related security concepts u2022u2003Build and enhance automation test frameworks supporting scenario level test coverage u2022u2003Incrementally add new scenario level automated tests u2022u2003Execute test plans and troubleshoot issues u2022u2003Collaborate with world class OS security experts u2022u2003Support key security initiatives under the Secure Future Initiative (SFI) Key Responsibilities u2022u2003Execute test plans, scenarios, scripts, and procedures u2022u2003Test system modifications to prepare for implementation u2022u2003Develop test programs addressing database impacts, software scenarios, and usability u2022u2003Document software defects using a bug tracking system and communicate fix needs u2022u2003Identify, analyze, and document functional or content related issues u2022u2003Track and monitor bug resolution progress u2022u2003Maintain databases of known test defects u2022u2003Plan test schedules and testing strategies aligned with project deliverables We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day.
