Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: u2022 Must be able to read, write, speak, and have good comprehension of conversational English [Required] u2022 Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office [Required] u2022 Comprehensive knowledge and application of nutrition services and medical nutrition therapy [Required] u2022 General knowledge of nutrient analysis, word processing, e-mail, and spreadsheet software [Required] u2022 Ability to search the web for nutrition research or practice updates and apply knowledge to updating reference materials, preparing for presentations, education, etc. [Required] u2022 Avails self to staff on units as the nutrition expert [Required] u2022 Performs Meal Test Trays 3 times per month (breakfast, lunch, dinner) [Required] u2022 Attends interdisciplinary meetings and rounds on assigned units as scheduled unless valid excuse demonstrated [Required] u2022 Assists in regulatory survey preparation when applicable [Required] u2022 Reviews and/or updates department resource/reference materials when applicable or required [Required] u2022 When confronted with barriers to meeting patient care standards, improves process by planning and implementing action steps [Required] u2022 Identifies specific patient or staff needs, initiates and develops educational or clinical materials then evaluates outcomes [Required] u2022 Assures that care delivered to each patient is in accordance with established standards [Required] u2022 Skill and knowledge in working with an electronic health record system [Required] u2022 Analyzes and interprets reliable assessment data to identify an actual occurrence, risk of, or potential for developing a nutrition problem [Required] u2022 Nutrition Diagnoses/Problems are included on the patient care plan and updated as more data becomes available, or signed off as applicable [Required] u2022 Provides appropriate intervention in accordance with the identified patientu2019s goals [Required] u2022 Identifies and follows through with potential complex discharge planning needs, intervenes early to promote timely attainment of goals [Required] u2022 Adheres to reassessment timeframe per standards [Required] u2022 Reassesses and updates nutrition care process and implement changes as indicated [Required] u2022 Complies with National Patient Safety Goals regarding abbreviation usage, patient identification [Required] u2022 Assessment, interventions and procedures utilizing equipment are appropriate for age group [Required] u2022 Strong verbal and written communication, organizational, problem-solving, and customer service skills [Required] u2022 Ability to interact constructively with supervisors, peers, and support personnel [Required] u2022 Ability to work well with minimal supervision [Required] u2022 Ability to keep accurate and complete records [Required] u2022 Initiative to keep abreast of new information/products/developments in the field of Dietetics [Required] u2022 Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations as related to Dietetics practice [Required] u2022 Proficiency in the Nutrition Care Process of the Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics [Required] u2022 Proficiency in identifying and using comparative standards to estimate energy, fat, protein, carbohydrate, fiber, fluid, vitamin and mineral needs as well as recommended body weight, BMI, and desired growth patterns [Required] u2022 Ability to be flexible and willingness to adapt to changes as necessary [Required] Education: u2022 Bachelor's [Required] Field of Study: u2022 N/A Work Experience: u2022 N/A Additional Information: u2022 Additional licensure or certification requirements may apply depending on the specific unit or state in which this position is located.
