Summer Swim Coach - Head Coach & Assistant Coach ...

Title: Head Swim Coach Job Type: Part-Time Summer Seasonal (May through early July) Job Duties: + Encourage and motivate swimmers while providing instruction to improve swimming technique + Plan swim practices to keep swimmers engaged and involved + Adhere to safety standards and best practices during swim practices and meets + Communicate with swim team parents, volunteers, other coaches, and club management + Emphasize teamwork and goal setting + Complete all required training and continuing education as required by SELA Aquatics + Complete all administrative functions of the team, including meet entries and records + Other tasks as assigned by the management team + Work with the assigned facility to organize an end-of-season banquet for the team with individual and team awards presented Requirements: + Head Coach applicants must be at least 18 years old + At least 1 year of previous experience as a swim team coach is required + Must be available for all swim meets during the season + Must be able to attend the vast majority of swim practices during the season (cannot request time off for more than 3 days of summer practice) ----------------------------------------------------- Title: Assistant Swim Coach Job Type: Part-Time Summer Seasonal (May - early July) Job Duties: + Encourage and motivate swimmers while providing instruction to improve swimming technique + Plan swim practices to keep swimmers engaged and involved + Adhere to safety standards and best practices during swim practices and meets + Communicate with swim team parents, volunteers, other coaches, and club management + Emphasize teamwork and goal setting + Complete all required training and continuing education as required by SELA Aquatics + Complete all administrative functions of the team, including meet entries and records + Other tasks as assigned by the management team Requirements: + Assistant Coach applicants must be at least 15 years old + Assistant Coach applicants who have not completed both high school and their first full-year of college are required to lifeguard with SELA Aquatics + At least 1 year of previous experience as a swim team coach or competitive swimmer is preferred + Must be available for all swim meets during the season + Must be able to attend the vast majority of swim practices during the season (cannot request time off for more than 3 days of summer practice) Location: Coaches will be placed with a summer league swim team managed by SELA Aquatics at a country club / private club in the New Orleans metro area.
